The location of the hotel is great with enjoyable views across the Beauly Firth. Notwithstanding this, the level of the bedroom décor and fixtures and fittings were not up to the quality required. The operation needs a significant capital investment. All a bit gloomy but then, so was the hotel.
The hotel is absolutely fantastic. Staff courteous and very professional. The best bit of all was the standard of food. One of the best dishes I have ever had was the venison. Stunning!!! Even the breakfast was at the highest of standards. Lovely walks, great location next to Inverness and tranquil next to the Beauly Firth.
We booked the winter package for my birthday and from the minute we got to the hotel we had a relaxing and lovely time. The food was amazing, staff were fantastic and the room was clean and comfortable. The décor and atmosphere throughout the hotel was great, with the wood fire burning at night was cosy. We also had the afternoon tea which was very good. I highly recommend going here, even if it’s just for the afternoon tea or a meal.
Had a two night stay at Bunchrew, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were lovely, the food was great and plenty of local whiskies to try. Around 5pm the log fire would be lit to cosy around. The rooms were clean and the views sublime. Totally fell in love with Inverness, visiting Culloden moor, fairy glen falls, Loch Ness and some local pubs. Will be an annual visit for my princess and mr now 🤗🏴
We stopped here after a recommendation from the boat crew on our Loch Ness tour and we were not disappointed. We had a salmon and cheese platter and then the most amazing scones any of us had ever eaten. Service and surroundings were faultless. A thoroughly special experience.
We stayed here for 3 nights over hogmanay and we were very impressed and will be returning. The hotel is charming with lovely furnishings, decor with wood panelling and open fireplaces but the biggest assett is the staff. They were welcoming, friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble, they made you feel at home. The breakfasts and the dinners were fabulous, even more so as I am coeliac so gluten free and they completely understood about cross contamination and I felt safe throughout my stay. The room and bathroom was spotless and the bed very comfortable. We are hopefully planning to return in June.
Highly recommend this hotel, we really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel staff were very welcoming, attentive and made us really feel at home. We found this to be a perfect romantic getaway given the location right by the lake whilst remaining intimate, surrounded by lovely trees. The decor was also spot on, paying tribute to the house’s heritage and maintained an aura of traditional , gothic Scottish architecture. We enjoyed the fine dining menu in the hotel’s stunning dining hall, and the meal was exquisitely prepared by the chef, and tasted very fresh, with the presentation being immaculate. We would highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting the highlands : if not for the place then definitely the food as the chef working there is very talented.
Beautiful old baronial manor, set well off the highway, 2 miles west of Inverness. We stayed in a suite, semi-detached from the main building. It was quiet, comfortable and had a good view of Beauly Firth. We had a formal dinner in the dining room, casual dining in the bar and then breakfast every morning in the dining room. All meals were excellent. The staff was hospitable we always felt welcome. As Americans, we have absolutely no business driving in the UK, so we relied on taxis from Inverness, which usually showed up about 10 minuted after we called. I wouldn’t recommend walking into Inverness, as I don’t recall the roads being very pedestrian-friendly.
It is a very atmospheric and traditional old lodge house right on the seashore. Classic rooms, very functional and well laid out; excellent mattress, cosy, quirky, unlike the cubes in modern hotels. Best breakfast ever experienced, superbly presented, and the ser ice was excellent. What's not to like? Highly recommended and just a 5 min. Drive from Inverness.
I found the hotel to be absolutely charming with warm friendly staff, idyllic setting and good food. Looking forward to stay here again. The bedroom had a sea view. The bed was comfortable and a good nights sleep was had. I would certainly recommend this hotel.
