Fantastic staff, food special and great location. Rooms well appointed only thing that was disappointing was the en suite it was in much need of an overhaul.Plenty of carpark space and generally just a lovely place great wine, gin and whisky selections.
We stayed one night at the Glenmoriston Townhouse, en route to Skye. The location of the hotel is perfect - right on the side of the River Ness, not at all far from the town centre, and there was plenty parking. We have stayed in two nearby hotels before and think they are all so well placed in the very picturesque highland capital. The hotel decor is very pleasing. We received a warm friendly welcome when we arrived. Our room was in an adjacent building, the Windsor Suite, just across the car park. The room and en suite were well appointed. There was quite a hazardous sloping ceiling at one side of the bed, but my husband coped! We were eating dinner elsewhere on the evening of our stay, but enjoyed a lovely breakfast next morning before heading off. A perfect overnight stay with a B&B rate of £105.…
Delightful hotel close to the centre of Inverness. Hotel is in good condition and our bedroom was excellent. Very good dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. The hotel overlooking the River Ness and it’s about ten minutes’ walk into town. Reasonable amount of off street car parking.
Very disappointing stay and hotel looking very tired. Booked direct with hotel as specifically wanted a room in the main building not the annex as those rooms are not always the quietest. Was informed room on ground floor had been reserved, rate was slightly higher than we could have booked online but happy to pay slight difference to get room we wanted. Arrived and informed our room was in the annex? Dug our heels in and explained we wanted to stay in main building (gave reasons why) and were given another room. Got upstairs, room was tiny and freezing cold as window had been left open. Television was the size of a computer monitor. Unpacked, tried to not be upset but definitely disappointed. Receptionist then telephoned to ask if room was ok and we answered honestly that it wasn’t what we were expecting. Offered to pay for an upgraded room but they didn’t have anything available for the Saturday evening. Then she informed us there had been another mistake with our booking and our breakfasts weren’t included in the price, even though she’d said our breakfasts were included when we arrived. By this point I’m doing the maths in my head and thinking if I’d booked online I would’ve save us £30-£40 a night. Manager then appeared and suggested we look at the original room they had reserved for us. Apologised and also said he’d sort out the issues with the rates. We were taken to room No 30 at the very top of the annex. Bigger than the room we were in and slightly better. So we packed all our belongings up and moved. I hoped as it was at the top of the building it wouldn’t be as noisy as the rooms downstairs. We discovered fairly quickly that the room was never warm. Heating seemed to be switched off during the day. We tried closing the blinds & curtains as the drafts coming in the windows was awful. Lovely view but we couldn’t enjoy it. There was only 1 chair in the room so only option was to constantly lie on the bed. Television was also tiny and sitting on a very dated table, as the bed was so high it was really difficult to watch it. Above the bed there had clearly been either water damage or mould, which they’d tried to cover up, not very pleasant to look at and cobwebs in other corners of the ceiling. Bathroom very small with very tiny shower cabinet which had water marks from the door hinges. No radiator other than small towel heater. Walking on the tiled floor was very unpleasant as it was so very cold. Having previously been guests on numerous occasions we looked forward to our breakfast next morning. Arrived at our prebooked 9.30am time slot and waited for 10 minutes before anyone appeared to allocate a table. Breakfast wasn’t anything like our previous visits. No fresh fruit. Saturday hotel was very busy. We had booked table in restaurant and food (steaks) were good. Having visited before menu not quite as varied as it has been in the past though. Entertainment in Piano Bar was excellent. Again disappointed as cocktail menu hasn’t been changed for quite some time. All a bit ‘samey’. Overall staff were very friendly and helpful but think we’ll be looking for somewhere a bit more special in Inverness. Perhaps we’ll return to the Glenmoriston if they have an upgrade.…
Booked 4 nights, my wife couldn't travel for first 2 nights due to ill health, hotel refused to credit the room cost. Arrived on the 3rd night late to a bedroom with an open window and no heating on, she was frozen all night sleeping with a jumper on. Next night wasn't much better as I joined her on 4th night room was really cold. We had booked a deluxe king room which the photo showed was a large bay window overlooking the River Ness but instead were put into a room overlooking the car park, so beware when booking they don't provide the room you expect. Room was tatty, single glazed window to rear of room, cobwebs in room and bathroom was tired and dated. This is far from a luxury or 4 star hotel. Save your money and book somewhere else which can provide a warm comfy room. Premier inns provide better accommodation than this hotel. Staff are helpful and good but they are let down badly by senior management who provide no customer care and have no concern for return business, place is a complete rip off.…
We stayed for 4 nights in room 10 and the facilities were clean and the staff very personable. We ate in the on site restaurant one evening and this was very good. What we were not so happy with was the description and what our room was like. The online photo shows a large room with bay window with view of the river Ness. Our room was not as spacious and had single modern front facing window . It did have a view of the river. Several details were not what we would describe as luxury. Robes were standard thin waffle material. The nespresso machine was not there and one was then provided when we queried it but with only 2 pods supplied during the four night stay. The available plugs had no shelves or furniture to put phones and electronics on and some items were plugged into an extension lead as there was inadequate provision. The occasional table is badly marked.Due to poor room ventilation the back facing window had a lot of condensation in the mornings.Sadly this did bring down our overall rating. The breakfasts were very good and service very efficient.…
After two horrendous nights in an other hotel we decided to move after an early morning walk around the ness i called in here to greeted by a lovely girl on reception i asked if they had availability for 2 double rooms and a family room for myself wife child and dog . That's when Ben the owner came out and heard our predicament and couldn't have been more helpful to the point where we stayed an additional night. Nothing was a problem hospitality at its highest would highly recommend
We stayed for 1 night while in Inverness. We had a ground floor twin room which was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly. Close to the city centre, 10 minutes walk along the riverside for bars and places to eat. Lovely cocktails! Great breakfast
An old building, so lots of narrow stairways and fire doors, which made it slightly challenging with our dog and all his luggage. Large room (we did upgrade) but basic. The restaurant was really tasty and the breakfast very good. Plenty of parking and a nice walk into the centre.
This is the second time we have used this fantastic hotel . The location is perfect, located along the river with a great car park. You are only 5 min walk from the centre with all the shops ,restaurants and bars . The food at the hotel is always fantastic and hot . The rooms clean the beds very comfortable, and all the staff friendly, polite and a credit. This hotel is a great base for your visit and ticks all the boxes and I cannot recommend this hotel enough . We will be back .
