I thought I recognised the hotel which looked familiar and then realised that we first stayed here in the 1980s when it was called the Caledonian Hotel and was part of the famous J.Lyons empire and frankly it's not changed much since then. However, let me start with the positives. The location is excellent, the hotel has its own car...

Arrived at the Mercure a little early and our room wasn't ready, which was not a problem. The lady on reception was very friendly, helpful and offered to store our luggage. At check in it was again very courteous and helpful. Our room was a good size and very well laid out only problem was the shower, not a lot...

Really nice overnight stay at The Mercure. Excellent central location overlooking the river, with parking. What pushed expectation was the friendly staff - of note Octavio who took care of us very well in the bar in the evening - and again in the morning for breakfast! Reception staff also very welcoming! We stayed at this hotel as part of a DBB itison deal which was great value but I think I would have been reluctant to pay the full prices for this hotel. The room itself was nice and spacious with a nice view of the river. The bathroom however, as others have stated, was very outdated and extremely grubby -...

A weekend break using a deal voucher. Location was great - 2 mins from the Rail Station. Hotel doesn't look much from outside but was much better inside. Room was lovely and clean. Bathroom a bit dated but clean. Dinner for one night was included. Food was lovely. Hubby had the steak and I had the steak and ale pie....

We stayed at this hotel as part of a Globus tour so my interaction with the hotel directly was limited. However, the locations was very good. It was adjacent to the Ness river which has some cute walking bridges and nice surrounding parks for walking.

My partner and I recently stayed at the Mercure Inverness Hotel for an easy commute to the European Pipe Band Championships in Forres. We booked a suite room. It was gorgeous.
