Avoid this hotel. Paid in advance but they claimed they had no evidence despite showing them my bank statement. they wanted me to pay again so I booked another hotel. I will probably have to use the small claims court process to recover my money.

….Never put a review on trip advisor before, but my experience was so bizarre I just had to comment… I should have sensed the strangeness of this hotel to any other I have stayed in when halfway to Scotland from the Midlands they tried to take the £510 for the 3 nights we had booked from our bank!!!… It got declined as we weren’t present and being on a train at the time we had no idea who was trying to use our details…! Anyway…. We arrived..a sad place it looks from the outside… and it could look so nice as lovely old building… No one in sight as we entered (this was a pattern throughout our stay… we hardly saw a soul… guest or staff… is this good or bad..?) although there were plenty of people staying for the Marathon… all clean but felt so strange….. After tracking someone down to check in he just took our names and said “your rooms there that’s £510 please… here’s your room card”…. And that was literally it!!!!! Room basic & clean … nothing more…. Then for a meal a girl and the same man …. They were the only staff we saw the whole time… ran the bar, served the meals, checked you in, did the rooms it was like a comedy …. They were nice but they need some help!!! The bed was terrible made me seasick … then as if in a dream…..crying and banging woke us at 2pm… The police for some incident in the room next to us… The commotion went on for nearly 2 hours with no hotel staff present … we hid in our room till all went quiet… About 5 in the morning I peaked outside (early morning run time) no one about … front door open… This is my most serious issue… reception should be staffed and the front door locked…. The police had attended for something and next day no staff were aware of what had happened!!! Next night woke to shouting… same time … staff member trying to eject outsiders…scared me stiff… hid under duvet… having a ground floor room this is just terrifying ….you feel so vulnerable…. Anyone can just stroll in and out whenever…. When we left no one about so we just left our card on the desk in the hall…. At several times during our stay I could have taken loads of information from the reception desk as it was unmanned and open and being quite good on a computer think I could have accessed quite a lot … completely undisturbed…. (That’s how come we knew there were lots of other guests as you could see as you walked past the screen showing the occupancy)…. So bizarre…. The staff we saw were nice…and everywhere clean … but it just doesn’t feel like a hotel… no services, no welcome, no comforts … just a basic room and a basic breakfast… everything else you pay extra for as you go ( no room account)…. I don’t know what the other guests did while they were there… hid in there room like us I guess…. A strange and expensive experience

We were booked into the crown court as a gift Fron a relative. As I have never stayed in this hotel I read some of the reviews. I was a bit dubious when I read some of them. But when we arrived we were amazed at the resent make over and how clean and comfortable the rooms were. We were offered a extra heater in case we were cold in the night. We did not need it the room was toasty and warm all night, We had dinner in the restaurant that night and the food was amazing. Mum really enjoyed the venison chill. The crown court burger was so good. I didn’t think I would finish it but I did, Breakfast was good too and a great selection. The staff we’re very friendly and attentive. Next time I am staying over in Inverness I will definitely be staying here. Thanks again for everything to you all. 🙂

Me and my partner arrived a bit early before check in, the only staff member that was available was and 18 year old chef. We got told to come back, so we wondered about inverness for a good bit, when we came back the staff members were all sitting about on their phones. When we finally got checked in our room it was like hitting a wall of heat, 24 degrees outside and the towel heating rack was on. We couldn't sleep to whole night with the heat of the room, my partner was looking for staff members, but there was none to be found, not even a night porter. The next morning we headed down for breakfast, my partner had a continental breakfast, I wasn't that hungry so I just had a roll with a sausage and black pudding, small glass of apple juice. I only ate half the roll as it was really dry. When it came to pay the bill, we got charged 18.99, 10 pounds of that bill was for half a dry breakfast roll and an apple juice. I question the staff member about the ridiculous price to which she replied. "It's part of the big breakfast since I had two items from the list" day light robbery! The hotel is over priced for a very basic underwhelming hotel, staff were incompetent and ran by teenagers.
