Gail was Outstanding, From Offering Suggestions to Places to eat Inverness , to highlighting a great morning or evening walk on the Caledonian Canal, To Letting me Leave my Luggage after Checking out and retrieving it later in the afternoon due to a Rescheduled Tour. Gail’s place is in an Excellent Location only about a 5-6 minute walk To Inverness Castle and River and close to Great Restaurants and pubs. I Highly Recommend Johnny Foxes or Macgregors. For a Great Host, Great Location and a Good Breakfast. Look no further than Gail at Dionard House.
We cannot recommend Gail highly enough, for her kindness and caring, when my husband had a cycling accident prior to our arrival to her B & B, in mid-September. She immediately focused on our needs & reassured us that indeed she would not charge for the room, under the circumstances.
Charming B&B that is perfect for the start of your NC 500 trip. Anne was a fantastic host and made us feel welcomed from the moment we walked in the door. Rooms were well appointed, comfortable, and clean, and breakfast in the morning was hearty and delicious. Would highly recommend to anyone passing through Inverness.
Such a beautiful house! We were in Scotland for 11 days and this was one of my favorite guesthouses. Very hospitable hosts. We were running late and close to missing our dinner reservations, so they called the restaurant and asked them to hold our table and gave us wonderful ideas for finding a place to buy bottles (the restaurant is byob but lets you bring in bottles).
Wonderful home, room, breakfast, hosts, garden, walking distance to town sites. We enjoyed our short stay and we highly recommend. All the amenities were well thought out. Parking was well indicated on the guest house sign.
We had such a wonderful 3 night stay at Dionard! Anne & Gayle we’re such wonderful hosts, always making sure we had everything we needed. They gave us some great local suggestions of things to do. They provided large umbrellas for those rainy days. Lots of parking, but highly walkable location for downtown Inverness. Highly recommend!!
Dionard Guest House is a lovely B&B in a superb location, but what really makes it stand out are its fabulous hosts, Gail and Ann. We couldn't have dreamt up more exceptional hosts for our final two nights in Scotland. They are the warmest, most vibrant (and hilarious) people you could hope to meet and they made our stay so special. They were chock full of the best recommendations for where to eat, what to see and do, and even figured out for us the best way, on our very last day in Scotland, to get our car-less selves to visit the Loch Ness. (It involved taking a hop-on/hop-off bus from the Inverness center city to Dochgarroch and there having a beautiful cruise down the canal to the loch. It was perfect.) The breakfasts were also scrumptious. We can't wait to return to Inverness and re-connect with the amazing Gail and Ann! We wouldn't stay anywhere else but Dionard Guest House.…
This was a lovely bed and breakfast with the added bonus of off street parking! Our room was very large and equipped with a fridge as well as ample sitting room and a spacious bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and Ann and Gail lovely hosts. A five minute walk into the centre.
People often make the different in a holiday trip - this could not be more true of the Dionard Guest House. Ann and Gail were exceptional hosts who went over and above what would normally be expected. Our room was very comfortable, the breakfasts were delicious and varied, and our hosts expressed interest in our daily plans. They suggested restaurants as well as guiding us to visit local sights. We absolutely loved their infectious banter, and spontaneity. Ann insisted that we needed bottles of water and candy "for the car". You will not regret staying here and we want to go back!
We stayed at Dionard for just one night en-route from Stonehaven across the Cairngorms on our way to the Isle of Skye. We're sorry we did not have time in our itinerary to stay longer. Gail and Anne were exceptional hosts! Our room was large, comfortable, and spotless, as was the bath. Though we worried road noise would disturb us, the traffic quieted in the evening and we had a good sleep. Only a ten-minute walk to town, we strolled along Loch Ness after dinner enjoying the views. Breakfast was varied and tasty. Unfortunately, I left a pair of gold earrings in the room. But, Gail sent them along to another B&B for us and refused to let us pay the postage. Thank you Gail and Anne!
