At first we were confused because the hostel does not look like a hostel if you are standing in front of it. The staff was nice, the kitchen was a little bit to small for all the people. There are no free parking spaces, the staff couln't help us either, but we found free parking slots only 5 minutes away...

We stayed here for one night. Staff was friendly and I enjoyed sitting in the lounge. Bed was comfy. If you drive, be aware that you need to pay to park in any of the nearby lots. Showers were decent sized, but a few more hooks or a shelf would be nice. They bathrooms had midget sinks, so the floors...

small rooms, terrible bunk beds, unwelcome atmosphere, dirty stained walls throughout, toilets in need of major cleaning.. only nice thing to say about this hostel is that the location is perfect. we couldn't have stayed here for more than 1 night.

Very friendly and helpful with lots of advice on traveling around Scotland and walks around the local area. Loved the museum and all the information about sites to visit. Would recommend to visitors to the area and walkers. Good for all ages

we had booked for two nights but cancelled second night as it was dirty, had to park in car park over the street and get up before 7am to purchase parking ticket, area was very dodgy looking, staff not very professional, very few of the plug sockets worked, kitchen was filthy. We were charged for the second night as we...

It was walking distance to town centre which was great. They couldn't have been more helpful and friendly when i booked in. Place was really, clean, tidy, fresh, comfortable, warm. Loved my experience and would chose it again. Although a little pricey compared to other hostels in the area.

The only good aspect of this hostel is its location. The staff is rather unfriendly and not helpful at all. The check out times are very limited which can cause you trouble if you need to leave before 8 am (because you need to pay a deposit for your key but there is not any place where you can leave...

Pros: very good location, close to the city center. Cons: I doubt strongly that the sheets or the toilets or the showers were ever washed/ cleaned... The kitchen was small - no room in the fridge to store food...the smell from the kitchen was felt everywhere in the building. Kitchen closed at 10:30pm and opened at 08:30am (why?). Walked around...

I came as a nervous solo traveller who had never stayed in a hostel before, so to be honest, was expecting the absolute worst. When arrived, Chris the manager seemed friendly enough, and showed me my room and the toilets and showers. I was in a 4 bed room with two bunk beds. It was very small, and quite dark...
