Hotel's location is lovely; right on Loch Linnhe. We were staying here overnight to travel to Mallaig on The Jacobite Steam Railway. Check in was swift and staff polite. The room, however was dated and damp smelling. The bathroom was tiny and not very clean. Beds were uncomfortable - springs sticking out and the noise from rooms either side was...

The location of this hotel was good, and while the front of the building and the lobby/bar/restaurant were beautiful, the rooms left something to be desired. There is a second building that is added on at the back of the older beautiful property, and was clearly done on a budget. Bathroom is barely wide enough for the toilet and the...

Visited for one night. Hotel looks much grander from outside than inside. Tired interior with worn fixtures and fittings. Room was adequate, toilet small and lacked the Wee extras such as a towel rail! Room was clean. Breakfast was a let down, they are clearly trying to save money and I refused to pay extra for a cup of tea...

The building is beautiful and rooms are small but nice. We also had a really nice view from our room. The free breakfast was decent. The only problem was the noise from other rooms, we were kept awake most of the night by the guests next to us and other guests coming and going down the hall. So the noise...

Hotel looks nice. Beds not good the springs were sticking up through the mattress. It's a container building in the back with the rooms with loud fans in the bathroom. Breakfast ok and it's very pricey. Staff quite nice, especially Natasha she was great. The view from the hotel was beautiful. Good bar. But overall a disappointment.

We were none residents at this hotel but decided to have our evening meal there. We were so pleased we did. The staff were very friendly. The food was very good, served quickly and nice and hot. Menu was very varied offering plenty of choice. Well worth dining there. Prices too were good.

Asked the hotel reception to receive a parcel on my behalf, as we were travelling by boat. On the day of the delivery, parcel was refused by reception staff. After my complaints, hotel staff did everything to get my parcel back and they did! Excellent customer service, thank you!

Staying on a tour of Scotland this place was amazing! The room was underwhelming but spotless and functional with a nice bathroom. The view from the window was a rock garden about three foot away that towered above our window so couldn't see anything else. We ate in the restaurant and although the beer and wine was delicious the food...

My husband and I spent 1 night here in a lovely well appointed room with a good view of the loch. The lounge area was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The dining area was spacious but food could have been improved. It is within easy reach of Fort William centre where there are good eating out choices....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Cruachan is designed with a traditional Scottish Highland façade and whilst the hotel has been, continues to be, sympathetically upgraded and modernised internally to provide all modern comforts, it has not lost its original character. The hotel has an enviable location overlooking Loch Linnhe and beyond the loch to the Morvern Hills. Guests can sit on the terrace outside the hotel in the summer, watching the boats on the loch and enjoying a quiet drink. ... more   less
