We have attended this ceilidh since 2016 excepting the covid times, So i believe it now has new owners or managment and i suppose big shoe to fill, and from our recent experience a lot to learn and sort out. Our first room on arrival was supposed to be a superior room as we requested when booking, was for single occupancy to small for two people with no bath. We got moved to room 17 which was great, Dinner on first night went well enough and food was good, the second night was a farce, we was told to go sit at same table as night before but it was occupied, and when we told them they seemed mystfied asking if we had been here the previous night, any off to another table for 4 people one table higher than other one very wobbly, dinner was late and cold and only 3 of us got the sweet we ordered so a bit disappointing The hall for the dance did not have anywhere near enough chairs and tables for the amount of people that had booked no one seemed to care The dude behind bar could run the place better than numptys who had that job, he was barman, waiter and many other things that. wer not his actual job, but the place was so understaffed he had to do it, so well done that guy, hope they gave you a big bonus in yer pay. Wecwill go back next year but only hope they have improved in running it as a business.

Hotel's Favourite
Had a fantastic break at the Ben Nevis. Our room 407 was perfect a superior twin room, spotless and comfortable. The food was outstanding and the choice was amazing ,so was the service. Girls on reception Carole and Morgan went above and beyond with there customer service. On our last day we had lunch and sat in the reception area, very comfortable till time to get the train home. We were served by Marta who again went above and beyond. Would definitely stay there again.

Despite an apprehensive initial impression of the premises (a large part of the facia on the front of the hotel is missing) and the fact that the reception area is very uninviting, the hotel is excellent and well worth it’s AA 3’A’s. ALL the staff are excellent. If I was to pick out one shining star, it would be one of the restaurant waiters - I think his name might be Ryan? The Food was amazing: fresh, plentiful and varied. The pool / jacuzzi are outstanding. The only reason I haven’t given 5 stars is because house-keeping is woefully lacking. The bed wasn’t touched at all and no hoovering was done either. One of the pillows was split which resulted in its contents being strewn all over the floor on one side of the bed. However, the towels were changed each day and refreshments tray replenished.

Room Tip: Don’t expect the beds to be made or the carpet hoovered.

After a year off because of covid we are back for our 5th visit to this wonderful base in Fort William. Its not 5 star but the value for money is superb, bar , restaurant, swimming pool sauna, steamroom, jacuzzi, good car parking and location on the A82 makes it a fantastic family or couples base in the West Highlands. Over the years from here we have managed to tick many wish lists on day trips from here, for example Skye, Eilean Donal castle, Inverness, Fort George , Culloden, Glenfinnan Viaduct and monument, Mallaig, Oban, Glencoe, Ben Nevis, to name a few. The rooms (19 for us) are fab, food is superb and staff very attentive. We have stayed in many 5 star around the world but fir me this is and always will be my favorite place I come to celebrate my birthdays. See you next year when I'm bringing the whole family to stay.
