Stayed here many years ago and I can honestly say nothing much has changed apart from the efficient Hungarian waitress serving me an excellent breakfast and the adequate wi-fi signal near the reception desk. My room was clean and tidy with plenty of very hot water, plus an adequate electric heater. The stunning views towards Skye and the bridge are...

My husband and I just completed a 6-week driving tour of the UK, so we stayed in plenty of places all over Scotland and England. The Lochalsh was by far the worst, and yet, the most expensive. At 120 GBP per night, it cost more than any other hotel on our entire trip, London included. It is in desperate need...

Called in for drinks without any great expectations that dog Lucy would be allowed inside. In fact the hotel bar seems more of a public bar than an area exclusively for guests and thus there were no problems. The bar was unimpressive with no real ale though the lager was extremely reasonably priced. A couple of tables outside with fine...

A hotel with history, how it really needs more tlc. Staff work well, food was good if a pound or two too pricey, but the building shows its years. Rooms very old fashioned, check bath or shower when you book in. Once overlooking the Skye ferry, the sea view is still wonderful.

Impression: *Automatic doors you have to slide aside to open. *Wind blowing through the doors and it sounds like you are in a haunted ghost hotel. *Nice staff, but the manager is only there at early daytime. And not everything is easy without the manager present. *The room was the worst room i have ever visited. The smell of fungus...

The Lochalsh Hotel on the picturesque waterfront opposite the entrance to the Isle of Skye certainly doesn't inspire any excitement upon arrival. Although it may provide a room for the night, but at what cost. This old hotel would have been a highly desirable holiday destination in its hay day, but now it's overdue for an update. On arrival at...

Just like the former ferry that used to traverse the waters to Skye adjacent to the hotel, this hotel is a relic of the past. A general lack of maintenance in the dining room and lounge area, a stuffy damp odor, old sofas, evidence of leaks in the ceilings. The location is lovely, but the hotel (even for afternoon tea)...

Shabby shabby. Drive past and find somewhere else, beds felt damp, no hot water, lights not working, towel rail not working these are only a few things but many more but the breakfast was acceptable. This hotel is a fire hazard waiting to happen, fire door held open with fire extinguisher!

So where to start, couldn't get through the front door as the automatic doors were broken.......I had to prise them apart with my own hands. On entering the hotel, the 'lobby' was furnished with scabby old sofas from the early 90's. General decorations throughout the hotel are massively outdated and in poor condition. The owners need to spend some serious...
