If the hotel has "14 bright, spacious rooms" as stated on their website them we must have had room 15. The smallest room you could possibly imagine being called a Double. The bed was small, the room was tiny, the en suite was so crammed in you couldn't get out of the shower without the door hitting the sink. Noise all night from an extractor fan below the room. Not a comfortable night or good stay. Didn't stay the second night. Raised with hotel and told these issues were personal to me. They did not appear to be willing to take on board genuine feedback on the inadequacies of the room.

We booked the bank holiday weekend late. It was a great price. We travelled with our dog. So we were given a spacious ground floor room in the annex. This gave easy access to the garden and the long distance path across the road. All the staff were brilliant. They welcomed us and our dog. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The beds were comfy and the room clean and well decorated. The annex is a typical Scottish sandstone house. I loved the period details. Just off the A71 and in a quiet neighborhood.

We stopped here for the night on our way to the carngnom's. We had a family room which consisted of 2 single beds & a double, it was the perfect size for us as a family of 4. We had an en-suite shower, with toilet & sink. Tea & coffee making facilities were provided in the room. Overall the room was very clean & comfy beds. We had an evening meal in the on site restaurant, the food was lovely & they even accommodated my daughters request. She asked for something off of the main menu but wanted it as a childs portion which they were happy to do. Breakfast was included in our room price & we enjoyed a lovely cooked breakfast. Tea, coffee, toast & cereal were all available to help yourself to. We would definitely stay here again.

After having a house fire at our home , we were staying at the Kidron house for 3 months . What can I say apart from it’s been an absolute fantastic time staying there . Jamie , Neale and Linda made us feel very welcome we arrived as guests but we have now left as great friends .The bar staff and waitresses and the chefs have all been amazing , The hotel honestly felt like our home from home while we were living there , nothing was ever a problem the whole time we were there. The food is of a very high standard and we are gutted to be leaving just before the hotel launches a brand new food menu , which we all had the pleasure of trying out on a tasting night and all I can say is it looks and tastes amazing , The owners and staff need to be congratulated on what they are doing with the hotel as it’s only getting better with a lot of hard work getting done behind the scenes. Our dog Jess the Rottweiler was spoiled every day with slice sausage cooked for her breakfast and then treated to dog biscuits every time she came down to the bar . I have stayed in many a hotel over the years and this is by far the most friendliest I have ever stayed in , They always had a knack of cheering us up when we were feeling down due to our recent house fire , we don’t know how we would have coped without them during our stay. Today was a sad day on leaving the hotel to move into rented accommodation while our house is getting rebuilt , but rest assured we won’t be strangers and will be back regularly to have dinner and drinks and a blether with everyone who works at the Kidron House Hotel who we now regard as being close friends. I would highly recommend his hotel to anyone who is thinking of paying a visit and don’t forget it’s dog friendly and your pooch will be made most welcome and more than likely spoiled . We wish them all the best in the future and can’t wait to come back when the new menu launches very soon , but in the meantime we definitely won’t be strangers and will pop in whenever we can. Good luck guys and seriously we can’t thank you all enough for everything you did for us in the last 3 months Skinzy , Louise & Carson oh and Jess the dog

We stayed for 6 nights, visiting family & friends. We were allocated a room separate from the main hotel adjacent to the back car park. The room had everything we needed, tea/coffee facilities (wee biscuits), iron/board/hair dryer. Could have done with some drawers but sure would be okay for those just staying 1 night. En-suite was small but clean and had a handy shelf above the sink for toiletries. Shower was hot and powerful. The walls however were very thin we could hear every movement for each of our neighbours (even snoring)... the noise did keep me awake. Car park was abit of a squeeze, but fine for small vehicles. The staff were very friendly and approachable. We may have spent more time socialising in the bar/hotel but once we had checked in and because our room door was outside we never ventured in.
