We were in Pitlochry for the Highland games and had planned to stay for two nights. We were at the SYHA hostel for those nights, which is also a nice place. However, after we had found Pitlochry Backpackers, we loved it so much (Pitlochry, too, is lovely and we vere lucky enough to enjoy the highlands in good weather) that...

I have stayed with Jojo's hostels during my trip to Scotland. They are very well organized and the bed name marking reminds me of my school days. They have a big lounge, billiards pool, TV room and a nice kitchen.

Had an overnight stay with friends in a private room. What a great friendly little hostel. Toni at reception is the most friendly, cheerful and funny guy that you could wish to meet. Toni is the cheery on the top of this great little hostel. Will definitely aim to stay again.

The staff was really nice and the breakfast is cheap (2 £) and good. The location is great, just 5 minutes from the station. On the downside there are no lockers in the rooms, even no shelfes, so you have to spread everthing on the floor. There are also no reading lights which is quite common in hostels.

Hello Bernie, thanks a lot for the tip but you might have the wrong place. We're not a scottish pub and don't serve alcohol here. We're a chilled out backpackers .....maybe you had too many whiskies by the stage of your pub crawl ;) Tell us where this pub is so we don't go!! Cheeers Toni and all the backpackers...

We stayed one night in the hostel as part of a MacBackpackers Tour and the whole experience was the highlight of our stay in Scotland. The hostel is wonderfully located and is perfect for individual or group travellers. The staff are great and super helpful and eager to give advice. They come across as travellers themselves, which is important. The...

In just 5 minutes you can be at a tranquil lochside with views through the trees to the hills above this pretty highland town. There are many wonderful walks to take; to waterfalls, along rivers, through ancient forests, or up Ben Vrackie (2760 feet, the hill above the town) - these walks all start from our hostel door! The area is also dotted with distilleries, castles and ancient standing stones all within easy reach. Perthshire is also a big centre for adventure activities, including white-water rafting, canoeing, bungee jumping, mountain biking, canoeing etc if you're up for it - or simply get your boots on and get exploring - there are some fantastic trails. The Pitlochry staff are a friendly bunch who know the surrounding area like the backs of their hands and are willing to help so don't be shy!
