Old hotel needing upgraded. But serviceable and clean. Not a nice smell on arrival, storage heaters the culprit I think and lingering smell of smoke which is obviously an old legacy.

Doss Inn more like! The word "Inn" suggests a bar with food and drink with a convivial atmosphere. There was no bar! A hotel with no bar? My room came with added damp and cobwebs as added extras. Did I say there was no bar? The TV didn't work either. It was literally a doss house. The "free wifi" was...

We were greeted at the reception by Aileen And Kieron. The best two people we have come across for all our years traveling. Helpful, friendly, with nothing too much trouble for them everything explained in the fullest. The hotel's a bit tired but adequate for a stay over. It's a pity they have to use road chef as this does not...

I want to stress the positives first. Most importantly, the lady at the reception could not have been friendlier and more helpful. We had a noise problem with our first room and she sorted it out immediately. Also, we did not regret following her advice on a choice of restaurant. The location is also good, just off the motorway and...

On arrival, the lass in reception was bright and very friendly. She advised us about dinner and breakfast. We were given the key to room 28 - upstairs and at the rear of the motel. All the expected facilities were there and everything worked except one plug socket. However, the room was worn out to the point of being grubby....

Couple of minor lighting niggles with my room, but this swiftly brought Chris (?) the handyman to sort them out - which was a bonus. It was a pleasure to meet him. He is a real asset to this hotel (the complete opposite of Willie, the Scottish janitor in The Simpsons !)

This is exactly what it says on the tin. A comfy bed in a basic room to break up a long drive. The room itself was pretty big, the bed was cosy and the shower powerful. There was a laminated piece of paper posing as a bathroom tile which made us laugh, good trick for saving money next time we...

The hotel was nice enough. Bed was comfortable though, room 34 that I had was right next to the slip road so with paper thin windows and walls could hear all the lorries and cars etc and the thunderous snoring from the guest next door to me. The staff were friendly and room was warm too. Being at the services,...
