This hotel is between the ferry and the Abbey. The views are spectacular. The rooms were very clean and well furnished. As with much in Iona the restaurant menu choice was limited and quite pricey, but delicious.
I recently stayed here for two nights. The whole experience was delightful. I was met at the ferry and my luggage was transported up the hill to the hotel. The food was excellent. The staff was very friendly. I would happily stay here again and for longer!!
This was a once in a lifetime experience for me and the setting, the accommodations, the meals, the grounds, the caring, responsive, ever cheerful staff made it perfect. I can not rave enough about it. If you will be on Iona, St. Columba Hotel is the place where you must abide.
Beautiful location close to Iona Abbey with lovely garden area to sit and savour views over the Sound. Beautifully presented food in evening: breakfast choice was more limited but haggis in full Scottish option was delicious. Staff were friendly and very attentive.
From meeting us at the ferry until departure 3 days later everything was excellent. Staff very welcoming and friendly and restaurant excellent. We had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel. It's location is spectacular
Each of my three visits has been so special and I always feel rescued by the kindness of the staff for whom nothing is too much trouble and the simple beauty of the place. The food is absolutely outstanding too.
This Hotel is just wonderful and sitting in the lounge overlooking the Sound of Iona and over to the pink Granite of the Ross of Mull rests the soul and is quite unique. We have been before and will return.
Since 1986 we have been guests of the St. Columba nearly 30 times, and always to our great satisfaction . . . with friendly, supportive staff and first-rate meals. I also love the large and serene lounges. And what's not to love about Iona, and the pleasure of the pilgrimage across beautiful, wild Mull?
We came for one night to celebrate a birthday, but we were so well look after and enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra night. What more can you say ! Comfortable room, stunning views and relaxing atmosphere.
The hotel is close to the Abbey which makes evening services (9:00 pm) easy to attend. The lounge area has a large glass viewing area which is perfect for meditation and reflection. The staff and ambiance are without equal.
