Response from metropolecork, General Manager at The Metropole Hotel

Dear stevecarrcross, Thank you very much for your feedback, I'm delighted to hear you found our Hotel to be to your satisfaction & all it came along with. I'm terribly sorry, however to hear you were left down in regards the car park. It does not belong to the hotel, we merely have 40 spaces from them so we can allow our guests' a discounted rate, but I will most certainly raise your points with the Manager of the Car Park, as not being permitted to get a second emergency ticket from ourselves should not have been the case at all. I do hope it will not deter you from returning to the Metropole Hotel, as a mis-placed ticket is something we can always fix straight away. Kind Regards, Roger Russell General Manager rrussell@themetropolehotel.ie

I had booked a single and it was small, the bed was pushed up against one side. there was little space to put your toiletries in the bathroom. They do have larger rooms as I asked Rosa at reception. Have a look at Jury’s Hotel too. Hotel prices in Ireland are cheaper on a Sunday night so this may influence the planning of your stay.

There are lots of bars in Cork city that are well worth visiting. We only had a drink from the bar with our evening meal. Room was a good size, compatible to other similar hotels.
