We stayed 2 nights at Abbey Hotel on 21 August. The location is good. As mentioned to some comments on TripAdvisor, this hotel is outdated especially the room & lobby. Bed is good but low water pressure for shower.

Had lunch here. As a main meal I had 14 mussels in a bowl that was a sauce which just seemed like cream poured over it. 4 (more than a quarter) of the mussels were closed so couldn't be eaten. No bread served with it....More
Had a wonderful week here with National Holidays, lovely staff, fabulous sized rooms and bathroom, lots of drawer and cupboard space, good food.
Only disappoinment was lack of coffee/tea after dinner - yes you can go up to your room but it is much nicer...More
