Great hotel if you are visiting Dublin for the restaurant and bar scene. If you want peace and quiet, go somewhere else. We love it, brilliant location, big rooms, clean. Staff are welcoming and helpful, especially the cleaning staff! Rooms and especially bathrooms are a little tired, showers are not too powerful but its spotless.

The hotel is in the ideal location, you won't have to walk 5 mins to either the night life or the shopping area. Don't be fooled by the opulent bar decor either, we made the mistake of using this as our starting point on the 1st evening, and touring all the templebar pubs, which were all pretty much the same,...

I paid £40 for the Hotel room which is very good for a European city center hotel, the room was clean the bathroom was clean but the finishing to the tiling was crude and and made the job look amatureish, the supply of ear plugs is not the answer to the street noise actually putting in double glazed windows is,...

The garlic bread was a joke. Two tiny pieces of bread on a small plate and it costed four euros. I got a portion of chips instead but they were more or less not eatable (old, crispy, dry). I left most of them. Everything else was nice with this pub though, from interior til staff, so I recommend it anyway,...

Unfortunately I have to echo other reviews regarding unfriendly check in staff, a noisy, draughty and overpriced room. Receptionist did not make eye contact but continued to search for phone charger during our conversation. No friendly Irish welcome or Happy Christmas greetings during check in here. Good nightlife, barstaff and food but I advise to check out other accommodation options...

If you want a great Monday night out for 5 euro then you wont beat the Hot House Big Band at the Mercantile. The musicians were all top players who meet on a Monday to keep the music and the spirit of big band music alive. The place was really busy and the crowd were all ages. The music and...

I am sorry to have to write a negative review but we had an unpleasant experience staying in this hotel. We had already spent one night in the Citi hotel across the road and had a very good experience. We decided to stay another night in the area as the location was great but had to move hotels. We paid...

I had the misfortune to be booked in here by my company for a weeks training, it def was one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. The room was damp, bathroom was mouldy and dirty and the general appearance was very tatty. They provide ear plugs when you arrive and there is a good reason, if you want...

We stayed here for one night having booked one hotel in Drumcondra and finding it was too far away from a venue we were visiting. The Mercantile looks ok from the outside, it's more than a collection of rooms than a hotel but can't knock it for that. Has a small but interesting reception. The room was ancient. From the...

Upon arrival rude memeber of staff, after advertising everywhere 11am check in then tells us it's 3pm, wouldn't accept to watch bags or allow us to put bags in room whilst cleaning. Also as we were leaving early Sunday morning we asked if we could cancel breakfast for our room, she replied no. When come back at 3pm after specifically...
