I wonder if people are confusing two separate buses. It's the first time I've come across several different services. Aircoach (which runs along the road at the bottom of Waterloo Road) goes a lot closer than the other airport buses, one of which was meant to drop me at this Doubletree hotel in March but which didn't turn up and left me stranded. I think tourist info should make it clearer, as could the hotel website, that 'Aircoach' is different from the other airport buses.

You picked the best spot for good places to eat..loads nearby! Langkawai has Malaysian, very good food in The Old Spot (an attractive pub with good, and so quite expensive, menu) There's a Turkish/Greek barbecue grill type place called Keshk around the corner which I liked a lot (byob too!) Then there's L'Ecrivain and Patrick Guilbauds both of which I think have Michelin stars..
