It’s not easy to find good accommodation in Dublin unless you have very deep pockets – if you’re on a tight budget I’d suggest you go somewhere else. I guess that’s the problem with centrally located hotels in any hip city – if you want the location then you have to be prepared to pay the price. The Central Hotel...

It's not cheap and you aren't paying for a modern, well styled, first class hotel room! It's all about the location.. which is very good, right behind Temple Bar. The rooms are very standard and noisey if you happen to get one on the street side. No double glazing. No aircon. Very small TV on wall although this wasn't really...

My partner and I just returned from a weekend in Dublin having stayed two nights at The Gresham and an unexpected extra night which we booked last minute at The Central Hotel. We wished we had stayed at The Central for our entire stay - the location is perfect for the shops bars and restaurants. The room is basic but...

The room was a pleasant surprise consisting of two separate rooms. It's a beautiful old hotel, the furnishings are from the 1970's though. Everything was clean. The noise though! Geesh, I got off an international flight with no sleep and STILL couldn't sleep due to constant whooping it up outside.

Wow, really nice spot. Got good reception on entry and it went on from there. Friendly staff. Spacious rooms. Comfy beds. It's not 5 star in the fact that it's not a new hotel and it's not a hotel that you'd hang around for the day or anything like that but Its perfect for a visit to the city. To...

The front desk staff were snobby and condescending. They did not know when the pharmacy across the street opened...and I walked in the rain to find it opened at a different time than I was told...which they thought was funny. This is an old hotel and as expected had one working slow elevator. It is centrally located in the small...

Overall the room was clean, the hotel area was nice and comfortable, and the receptionists were very helpful. The hotel is expensive for what you are getting, but everything else in Dublin is comparatively priced. Yes it is more expensive than the much nicer cities of Europe, but if you are visiting you are kind of stuck with the elevated...

Granted, it was a Bank Holiday weekend and a very hot one, but the windows didn't open very wide, so there wasn't much ventilation and the street music and noise until the wee hours could be heard from below. The room and bath were small; there wasn't a safe in the room, which didn't make it feel very secure; and...

First the positives : The hotel is quaint, nicely furnished and the parts that I saw were spotlessly clean. Now the negatives : I was a little unsure when booking the property as other guests had complained about noise from nearby bars and/or clubs. I thought that things would not be bad on a Monday night so took the plunge...

Our room was beautiful. Staff was amazing. Breakfast/lunch and late night bar options on site. Parking available but kind of expensive. The location was perfect, but beware the late night noise outside - it was OK for us since we were participating in the nightlife but wouldn't suit everyone.
