Detailed Reviews
The hotel is a series of what, back in 2017, were derelict Georgian town houses, two of which had been knocked together as a glass blowing company (these two are now the hotel reception area, and the glass company's round stained glass window has been retained, and can be seen in reception), and two others were a very run down and tatty hostel (this is now the entrance to the pub area). In between the glass company and the hostel were empty houses with broken windows. At the back was the gardens, which had become broken waste land, and a chapel used by a nunnery.
The conversion to a hotel and pub has not entirely been successful. The pub area at the front stretches along the town houses, forming small rooms for eating and drinking, but this is also a corridor to the hotel reception, and though some form of quiet can be found in some of the rooms, mostly it feels like a corridor.
The chapel at the back has been retained, and this creates a quiet, relaxed eating area on two levels, and is the best area, though there is little natural light.
The area between what had been the hostel and the chapel, which was originally wasteland, has been glassed over to form the main bar. This creates a light, airy room. The ceiling height is the height of the roof of the town houses. On each floor there is a walkway to reach the hotel rooms in a purpose built structure at the back. The higher up you are, the hotter it is. We were initially shown a room on the second floor, and it was stiflingly hot walking across the walkway to reach our room. And that wasn't a sunny or hot day. We were pleased to be swapped for a room on the first floor. The walkway was still hot, but more bearable.
Our room was comfortable and reasonably quiet. Some staff members would sometimes be chatting and smoking in the space outside below our room so we had to keep the windows closed - but the air conditioning was fine.
The beds were comfortable, and sheets changed every day, and biscuits refreshed.
Location is useful. Trinity college is a 25 minute walk in one direction, and the Omniplex cinema 15 minutes in the opposite direction. Useful shops, including a Tesco Express, are just outside, and a very handy pub, The Bleeding Horse, just opposite. This is very useful as the Wetherpoon pub in the hotel is very poor. Most beers are not available, and when they are they may not be in fresh condition.
The tv in the room is a decent size, but is internet based, and is very slow with many channels simply not available, and those that are may occasionally freeze or stutter.
All in all, despite little issues (and there are usually little issues in any hotel), we found it a clean, comfortable, and pleasant hotel. Spacious room with decent facilities. Good location. Be happy to stay here again. Be even happier if the pub had a new manager who could ensure the beer orders and rotation were kept up to date.

Very welcoming hotel and friendly and helpful staff. Conveniently located to reach the center on foot, many nearby bars, even bus stops and train and tram stations are within minutes. On the ground floor there is a small pub very quiet, where you can serve yourself from breakfast to dinner. The hotel is well organized, silence despite the proximity on a busy downtown bus street. The room clean and tidy, with the presence of every comfort strictly necessary. The only small flaw the present of the carpet.

We stayed for 2 weeks. Front desk staff is very nice. room was quite large, beds were comfy, lots of hot water with good pressure. Location is great, 20 to 30 minute walk to all the major sites. close to some terrific restaurants and couple little grocery stores. Great pubs all around also. However the hotel doesn't have Guinness beer or diet coke. Food is quite cheap, we did breakfast and a couple dinners there. Only down side was the fact that housekeeping kept forgetting our room, had to go down 3 times and request for our room to be cleaned. Beds not made, no clean cups or glasses, nothing swept or vacuumed, bathroom not cleaned.

Beautiful looking hotel (and bar)! The place is very tastefully decorated, and the bar is almost jaw droppingly beautiful. The rooms are so quiet too, you wouldn't think it was above a busy bar in the centre of Dublin.
The reception staff of the hotel are lovely, but I'm sad to say that's where it ends.
We booked the hotel as a last minute hotel for a Crumlin appointment with our Son, as the room rates were very cheap!
Before coming, we checked the times that children are allowed in the bar for food as we knew we had a late arrival, and the website states last orders for kids is 9.30 with them needing to vacate at 10 but hotels discretion for later. When we arrived, first thing we checked with reception was how long the kids could stay in the bar.
Around 10 minutes after sitting down, and ordering food (9.10) a very very rude security guard (Patrick) was his name, came and simply told us to "leave" and then "leave now. Tried informing him we were guests in the hotel, he was having none of it. I said we had ordered food, and he just shouted "take it away" - in front of my 11 year old. Who, might I add, he scared. He was so rude, and abrupt and there was absolutely no need for it.
He got so frustrated he walked off muttering he was getting the manager. The manager came down down and we explained the situation, and he said that their policy was children had to leave by 9 but he wasn't sure about hotel guests. So he agreed to let us stay.
It transpired that a member of staff in the bar, seen us sitting down with two kids and informed security. Instead of checking with us, or checking to see if we were guests in the hotel first. It would have been much better for the manager to have approached first.
I spoke to reception again, and they called the bar manager who all seemed to have different ideas of what the policy was and what was allowed. They all apologised, and agreed that the security guard shouldn't have approached how he did - there was no need for the aggressiveness ESPECIALLY in front of children. It's not on, and it frightened the children.
My youngest, 9 has autism and the minute the clock hit 10pm he was terrified to the point he kept asking us to leave because he feared security was going to come and kick him out!
Disgraceful carry on from the security staff. It would really put me off staying here again which is a shame because the hotel is beautiful, and the reception staff are so friendly.

My requirements for a hotel for business trips have to address 3 points:
· Good Wifi
· Comfortable bed and decent bedding
· Good Shower
Keavan's port addressed all 3, very admirably - bed was very comfortable, bedding was good, only 2 pillows on the (very large) double bed (2x twins pushed together) however 2 additional feather pillows in the wardrobe.
Shower very easy to control the temperature, and very powerful, just what is needed to wake up.
I had a family room - which was a great size and very well appointed for the cost. modern style, with a desk and chair in a separate alcove, a passageway to the main room, with the very large bed, and a sofa, along with 2x additional chairs. All of a style that worked (IMHO)
Location wise, less than a 15 min walk to Grafton Street, and Camden Street itself is “full of life”.
The pub is a Spoons, you get and (should) know what you are paying for, staff were very helpful.
I will be staying again

The sum of bad hospitality. The hotel room in a dirty condition, moths in the room, bathroom/toilet/drains uncleaned on arrival. Complained twice to reception that they should at least take care of the moths in the room and make the beds or vacuum. Nothing was done. The lady eating behind the counter at reception felt visibly annoyed and disturbed by my complaint. The location of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff in the restaurant should be mentioned positively. An accommodation to avoid!

The great reviews were severely misleading.
Room 1/10
The walls were paper thin to the point where you can hear people have casual conversation next door as if they were in your own room.
No mini freezer to keep water bottles cold and you WILL need them, since the tap water in Dublin taste like swimming pool. The safe lacked the key so everything expensive had to be held outside in the room.
Second towel were missing.
Food 1/10
The food were atrocious, and I normally love Irish cuisine.
Every single dish tasted like paper mache and grease, the 11"pizzas tasted worse than the average frozen pizza at Tesco...
Service 2/10
The receptionist and waiters weren't rude, but they had a constant frown and non of the personality of which the Irish are known for.
Hotel bar 1/10
Which Irish bar does not serve Guinness or any other Irish beer? it baffles me that they sell the beer from my own country but lack the brains to include something that simple.

Thank you! We loved it! A quirky, unique hotel served by amazing staff. The cleanliness and comfort are second to none. The security and numbers of doors requiring passkey access are so reassuring. The rooms have individual heating control panels enabling a room temperature to suit the occupants. The bathrooms were spotless and beds comfortable. We had inter connecting rooms, which are great.
The pub prices compete with anywhere, amazingly reasonable if not cheap. The food served is good. You order at the bar, giving the table number.
The hotel is surrounded by pubs, restaurants and cafes too and there are supermarkets a minutes walk away. Taxis can be flagged down easily if needed, but reception can book for you, too. Weatherspoons have sympathetically renovated 8 Georgian houses, and the hotel is also built around an old chapel, creating a quirky but cosy atmosphere.
We loved every minute of our visit. The staff are amazing and seem so proud of the hotel and offering a first class service!!
Thank you again. We will definitely be back!

Chantelle was very friendly, efficient and professional when we checked in. However on entering our room we noticed that we had a shower with a "step over" bath. Unfortunately both my friend and myself would have found this extremely difficult as we both have bad knees. We then went and spoke to Jess on Reception who very quickly and easily changed us to another room with a walk in shower. Our second room was absolutely fantastic. The quality of bed, bedding, carpet, curtains and lighting were up to the usual Wetherspoon's high standard. The only other problem we had in the room was the height of the coat hangers. Both my friend and myself found it extremely difficult to reach them, and were therefore unable to use them. Everything else in the Hotel was ideal. Chantelle, Jess and Khiara were so exceptionally helpful during our stay, and could not do enough for us. Would definitely recommend this venue.

Stayed here the night before the Dublin Marathon (28th October 2023) and it was perfect.
There were 4 of us and we booked two twin rooms. The rooms were nice and quiet so we had a great night's sleep. We had dinner there the night before too and it was really good.
The staff working there were brilliant - they let us keep our luggage in a secured room until after we had finished the marathon.
For us it was ideal - very central, but crucially not noisy at all (some more central hotels can be terrible for nightclub/pub noise)
