The hotel is right across from St. Stephen's Green, a quiet area but not far from restaurants and shopping. In fact, we walked just about everywhere we wanted to go in the city. We got a visitor LEAP card at the airport that allowed us to take the DART up and down the coast as well as use city buses...

Just got back to the U.S. from a cruise from Lisbon, Portugal to Dublin, Ireland. At the end of the cruise we stayed a few days in Dublin at the O'Callaghan Stephens Green Hotel. Would recommend staying at this hotel for several reasons. Location is excellent. Beautiful park across the street (St. Stephen's Green). Main shopping street is Grafton just...

Nice air-conditioned rooms. The proximity to the park was great. Staff were pleasant and extremely helpful. We were given a map and directions, staff helped with car arrangements and offered coffee with our 5am check-out for a flight. Breakfast options were typical of all the other places we stayed.

I booked and paid, in full, for a room in this hotel before Christmas 2014 so you can only imagine how my husband and I felt when after getting off a plane from Liverpool and arriving at the hotel at 11pm we were told the hotel was fully booked and we were being shipped off to another hotel. I can...

The hotel has a confusing layout in that the renovated new rooms are quite a distance from the lobby, winding through hallways and connecting buildings. My room was quie large, comfortable, with the all important tea making set up.

Hugh L, Manager at O'Callaghan Stephen's Green Hotel, responded to this review

Thank you mas47 for taking the time to leave you feedback. I was glad to hear that you did enjoy your time in the hotel. Unfortunatly, due to constraints of planning, there is only access via one floor to the other rooms in the hotel. Kind Regards Hugh L.

NOISY at 7 am! Management agreed to move us to the other side of the hotel, knowing that while we still may have construction noise, it would be less and we'd have an upgraded room as originally requested...nice location, service and finally moved to room with a view (we're from Florida and like a view)... Staff pleasant, bar nice except...

Paul C, General Manager at O'Callaghan Stephen's Green Hotel, responded to this review

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review kkjtom1. I am disappointed to hear you were inconvenienced by noise from nearby construction works. The works should not have impacted upon your stay as these works are directly behind the building adjacent to the hotel. Whilst I am glad we were able to accommodate a room move this should...

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend city break. Not he location was excellent. The hotel bar and restaurant I have to say could do with a bit of TLC as it is looking bit tired and shabby. We stayed in the new executive part the room and was spacious and the bathroom was excellent. The price of...

Fabulous hotel, very modern and clean. Rooms are large and spacious. Well situated for visiting the sights of Dublin, within walking distance of the main areas on this side of the Liffey including Temple Bar approx 10-15 minutes.Plenty of local bars and shops close by especially, on Wexford Street which is 2 minutes walk.

I arrived at the hotel early in the morning and my room wasn't quite ready yet. The girl at the desk graciously watched my luggage for an hour or so while I took the "hop on hop off bus tour" around Dublin. When I got back I checked in to my lovely room, freshened up and headed out again to...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The hotel comprises of two magnificently restored Georgian buildings, with a heritage of great historical and cultural importance to Ireland. One was home to the great Irish playwright, George Fitzmaurice, while 4 Harcourt Street was the birthplace of Lord Edward Carson, one of the founders of Northern Ireland and a central figure in Ireland’s Unionism movement. Entering through the tasteful reception area, guests will be struck by the stunning glass atrium, filling the lobby with natural light and overlooking the idyllic Stephen’s Green park. The stylish interior design throughout the hotel, with wood panelling and soft leather furnishings sitting alongside Georgian stucco ceilings and elegant fireplaces, beautifully showcases the fusion of old and new. George Fitzmaurice is honoured in the hotel through our bar and restaurant, which are named after two of his plays. The ‘Magic Glasses’ Bar is an opulent, comfortable bar where local businesspeople and visitors alike regularly meet over a coffee or drink, while the ‘Pie Dish’ Bistro, set in the bright atrium and the inner rooms of the Georgian houses, serves the finest in contemporary Irish and international cuisine. Located on the first floor, the Georgian library has a charming old-world feel, where you can sit in 19th century surrounds, featuring open fireplaces and chandeliers – an ideal way to unwind over a pre-dinner drink. A gymnasium is available for the exclusive use of residents, while the business centre is open 24 hours, with a secretarial service available for the business guest. Flexibility and choice is a core value of O’Callaghan Hotels. Guests can use the facilities and services of any Dublin O’Callaghan Hotel and have the account conveniently billed back to your room. ... more   less
