For the start this is not a b&b as they don't serve breakfast and no tea/coffee facilities in the room, room was horrendous as seen in pics , beds were damp mould on ceiling and windows wouldn't shut! Left standing outside the property for 2hrs and then greeted very badly!! AVOID staying here!

My boyfriend took me to Galway for my birthday and we stayed 3 nights in Abbeygate Guest house. The accommodation is basic, and as we were planning on being out most of the time, this suited ok. Good shower and big comfy bed. Room wasn't cleaned while we were there nor did we receive clean towels. We weren't there for...

You can not call this a b&b when there is no breakfast and not even tea facilities in the room. Very disappointing would not stay here again. €60 per person per night is ridiculous. Should have stayed in a hotel.

Surprisingly good stay. Room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The shower was amazing. Price was very reasonable and the location is ideal for central Galway. Budget accommodation done very well and hassle free. Daniel.

I enjoyed staying here because it was so central and walking distance to everything. The room was clean but a bit small and the bathrooms is shared with other guests staying. We were unfortunate as our neighbour guest made a mess of the bathroom and it was then unusable after that.

We stayed here recently during the Galway Races. It's a busy time in Galway and the price seemed reasonable but unfortunately the premises leaves a lot to be desired. If it was cheap and cheerful that would be ok but in reality the place was grim and expensive. The location is great but the rooms were poky, there's no communal...

Booked into the Abbeygate as a last minute stay on a trip to Galway. Stayed in a double room ensuite. While not as big, it was every bit as comfortable as a hotel. The entrance hall could perhaps use a facelift, but the room and bathroom were both immaculate. Wifi worked well, good power in the shower. For the cheap...

We booked a double room for the weekend in Galway, and were delighted with our stay. It was just right - nothing too fancy, but a cozy, comfortable room with a great bed and clean bathroom. They are undergoing renovations, so there is no reception desk, but the staff was friendly. The location cannot be overrated - it is extremely...
