We visited here on Sunday night, and enjoyed our stay very much. Breakfast was included which was very tasty. Staff were excellent, especially the young waitress. This place is basic but it sells it self as a hostel, with did have a private room with en-suite. The bathroom was clean the bedding was clean and the bed supper comfy. The...

my parents stayed there for 1 night and both were very happy with the accommodation and food. They were attending a wedding and requested that they could book in earlier so as to change their clothes for the event. Eileen the owner was very helpful and made sure that the room was ready for their arrival. The double room en...

Please don't believe any of the good reviews of this hostel, facilities terrible and staff very rude. Ladders on bunk beds broken, no hot water. Issue even with the toilets flushing. Lack of wall sockets

Oh dear. I have just returned from a weekend in Tralee and stayed at Finnigans because it was booked by a family member. The location is ideal, really central to everywhere. Three of us stayed in a room with en-suite facilities. Basic I can do, it was a quick weekend break for a family event, this doesn't even nearly tick...

This place is terrible!! We checked in at 2 pm to be told we were too early (checkin on our confirmation was 1pm). The lady we checked in with was abrupt and confused looking when we gave our name as she thought it was one bed booked for 3 nights instead of 3 beds for one night. We had booked...

Our third time to stay at Finnegan's during the Rose Festival. We had a school band of 25 girls. Location is excellent. Rooms very clean. New tea rooms & restaurant opened since our last visit. Full Breakfast included with our stay. Very safe for children with 24 hour security. Highly recommended.

Looking for a rather cheap place we stayed in this hostel for a night, slept in a dormitory and had breakfast (included in the price). We met some really nice people and spent a funny time cooking in the kitchen. The hostel is pretty charming and had a nice atmosphere, it was quite what we were looking for. The breakfast...

Finnegan's hostel is a quaint Georgian style house in the middle of Tralee. Staying there the hostess Eileen was a DELIGHT! We called ahead the hours before and she was able to put us in a private room. The room was small but it did have four beds in it bunk bed style. As a traveler of hostels I have...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to Finnegan's Hostel, Restaurant and Mary Anne's Tea Rooms, Tralee, Co. Kerry. Built by the Denny family in 1826 from the stones of the old Tralee Town Castle. It was converted into a cute quaint hostel whilst making the most of its original features. We have a mixture of dorms and rooms with forty beds in total. All the private rooms are en-suite. We also have two big rooms with open fireplaces, perfect for those winter days! Our cellar restaurant serves fresh seafood and steak and offers great value for money. We are just five minutes walk from the train (Irish Rail) and bus (Bus Eireann) station and we are just off the Main Street of Tralee town so its perfect for visiting the sites, or heading out at night! Across the street from us is the amazing Tralee town park. We are only thirty minutes by car from Dingle, the Ring of Kerry and Killarney. The history of the famous Kerry landmark Mary Anne's Tea Rooms: Mary Anne Hickey and her husband Bartholomew came from a farm in Crinne outside Castleisland, Co. Kerry. She had ten children and fifty-four grandchildren of which I am one. She loved baking and entertaining friends & family at her home and these tearooms are dedicated to her memory.
