Amazing view of the castle and overlooking the impeccable garden. Clean spacious room and amazingly helpful staff. Included breakfast was one of our best meals. It's in the design center and the restaurant opens early just for hotel guests. Homemade scones and full hot breakfast with self serve yogurt parfaits. Solid coffee and perfect tea. A must for Kilkenny stays!...

This is a very old building, recently renovated, in the centre of Kilkenny. The bedrooms are very comfortably furnished and our bathroom was huge and spotless. If you have one of the bedrooms at the back of the house you are looking out over the wonderful garden. However, I found it totally impersonal and soulless and without any character. The...

What a wonderful location! Very convienantly placed in the downtown area (read downtown as meaning lots of restaurants, pubs, cafes etc) and yet has a large enclosed garden connecting to an open square with the design center doubling as the restaurant linked to the hotels breakfast included (another delightful component, our best B&B breakfast to date), and then through that...

Located in an old house close to the castle, this hotel is discret and very comfortable. Bedrooms are large and fully equipped with very good beds. No restaurant but friendly staff and free parking inside a courtyard. The garden is peaceful and beautiful. You will cross it to go for the full breakfast. Then, you have a direct access to...

We stayed at Butler House in Kilkenny for 2 nights as the starting point of our visit to Ireland. What a lovely introduction to the country. Butler House is a beautiful building and the rooms are fantastic with high ceilings, gorgeous fireplaces and furniture with lots of space. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful with suggestions of what to...

Seventeen of us stayed here the weekend of March 24th - 26th 2017 and loved it. Rooms are large and very well decorated, location is ideal, staff very friendly, and breakfast in the Kilkenny Design Centre at the back of the house was great. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

Staying in the Butler house is a wonderful experience! The building itself is extremely historic, and the private carpark is a plus. The breakfast, which is through the garden in the old stables, is phenomenal! The rooms are upgraded and extremely nice as well. Highly recommend staying in this hotel!

Three of us shared a massive garden-facing room last weekend. It was comfy, quiet & stylish. We enjoyed the space & peace & the staff were lovely. Breakfast in the Kilkenny design centre was ideal. For us it was the perfect location for a relaxing weekend browsing the city. Highly recommended. One minor quibble was the old-fashioned bed linen. Duvets...

A perfect location to wander around the historical city of Kilkenny. It's got everything you need for a short break. Near to many restaurants and bars. A short stroll takes you to the shopping hub. Breakfast in the design centre is just delicious.

The photo they use to advertise the place really is a photo of the house, BUT it's a photo of the BACKSIDE of the house and is cropped in a way that lead me to believe it was out in the countryside somewhere. Imagine my surprise when GPS lead us to practically the center of town, faced with an unending...
