We chose Butler House knowing that it wasn't a typical hotel, with a big lobby and bar/restaurant. We knew it was more like a guest house, and that the parking lot was tricky to find. But we really enjoyed staying there. We booked a superior family room, which was huge and fitted with a ledge (or a window seat) where...

We stayed at the Butler House for one night as a family with two children. We chose this hotel because of its central location next to Kilkenny Castle, its historical roots, and because it allowed our family to stay in one room. Overall, I enjoyed our stay because it was very different from the hotels we usually stay at and...

This is a lovely location close to everything. I missed being in a hotel,-no reception or bar to have a drink in when you return in the eve. House is lovely. My room was pleasant and bathroom particularly spacious. Breakfast very nice in Kilkenny Design.

This ain't your typical accommodation, so if you're after something slightly different then stay here. This house oozes history and charm. It may not have the spa facilities of the big hotel chains but when you see the fantastically generous bathrooms then you'd be forgiven you began to imagine that you were in one. We stayed two nights and loved...

We stayed for one night whilst visiting friends and booked last minute based solely on the look of the place on google and trip adviser :-) Well, the place ended up being a gem, a pure, rare gem. The initial thoughts were a little mixed as the street view is not what you see on google searches! But once inside,...

First, if you're driving on the street you will miss it. The picture they have is taken from the courtyard which is behind the front entrance. They do have a parking station for the cars but again if you blink you will miss it.1970's decor. We stayed here during our time at Kilkenny, we received an upgraded room for our...

My husband and I stayed here last week and were so happy we decided to pick the Butler House. The location is amazing and the room was perfect for us! The front desk staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. She was able to recommend some great places to grab and bite and suggested activities for us. The room was clean...

We can't say enough good things about the Butler house. We stayed for one night in October; our room was large and had a fantastic view of Kilkenny castle. The staff was exceptional. We had to leave early on our departure day in order to get the Dublin airport; it was before breakfast was normally served. Mairead made arrangements to...
