We stayed at Newlands lodge after our first day of driving on the wrong side of the road. Of course we were lost and Jimmy provided excellent directions that guided us in. Mairead was awesome, telling us that the next day would be much better driving, it was. Our room was spacious, comfortable and a good nights sleep. For breakfast,... More

Great B&B. Mairead and Jimmy were so welcoming and undoubtedly spoiled us as there was nothing quite as nice at the other seven locations we stayed at in Ireland. Living room had tea service set up 24/7 with a variety of cookies and biscuits all the time. Really nice bedroom; good size with nice bathroom/shower. Even able to sleep at... More

We stayed here last night for my partners birthday with a group of friends. Mairead couldn't do enough for us. The rooms were lovely and very decorative with very quaint pieces from around the world. The whole B&B was spotless from top to bottom. The life quotes around the B&B were a lovely touch. Iron, hairdryers and nice shower gels... More

We only stayed in the Kilkenny area for one day/night - wished we had stayed longer. Our hosts, Mairead and Jim were awesome. Our room was well appointed and very comfortable. One of the best B&B's we stayed at in Ireland. We were on a 3 week trip so we stayed in a lot of B&B's. I highly recommend this... More

One of the highlights of our trip to Ireland. Kilkenny is a nice town, not too touristy and with a feel of a market town. Some good restaurants and attractions, including the castle and craft area opposite. Great pottery down the road at Nicholas Mosse, and you can see that Mairead has shopped there ! Newlands Lodge is a very... More

This was our first B&B on our trip in Ireland and it was such a wonderful experience - it set the bar for every other place! I was an adult traveling with my parents on holiday. Mairead was so welcoming upon arrival, I wanted to give her a hug immediately! The breakfast was fabulous and one of the best of... More

This is a lovely B and B . It is quite close to Kilkenny but in the country just south of town. Mariead and Jimmy are the proprietors and could not be nicer. Our room was very comfortable and breakfast was so delicious and plentiful. There were all sorts of teas, coffees and sweets available in the evening when we arrived... More

Just visit here and you will see what I mean. Mairead is such a lovely person. Very friendly and as helpful as can be. The room was huge, and very very comfortable. Lots of nice wee extras you would never get in a hotel. Breakfast was a treat. Fresh cut fruit in a bowl. Homemade scones and bread. Very tasty... More
