From the moment you arrive until you hug goodbye you are treated as a very special guest. Our ensuite was clean, comfortable and very quiet -- Irish breakfast DELICIOUS. Tea or Coffee, scones with jam and cream, cheese and biscuits were served upon our arrival -- a very unexpected welcome. You won't go wrong with choosing Windermere House.

Arrived late evening to find fresh-baked scones, butter and jam in our room and the offer of a hot drink. Our room was small but it lacked nothing and despite it facing a busy road, we were not disturbed. Next morning our landlady Kay provided an excellent breakfast on time despite being full. As we left, she gave us a... More

A great B&B at a great price. The room was spotless, the breakfast cooked to order and the Kay the owner makes you feel welcome the moment you step in the door. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a cozy B&B in County Mayo.

Kay was the perfect hostess. This was our first trip to Ireland, largely in search of relatives in the Castlebar area. She was so helpful in that venture, making phone calls to put us in touch, taking messages and giving us directions. She knows what there is to do and see for miles around and was eager to share that... More

This is an excellent place to stay, run by friendly genuine people, eager to help without profit in mind. It is very comfortable, the bedrooms are first class, and it has a pleasant lounge with plenty reading material. I felt it to be a home from home. Compared to other B&Bs in Ireland it is not expensive. For fly fishermen,... More

I had the joy of staying here for just one night but found the acomadations and service to be above the standard of most B&Bs. Our hostest was fun, warm and very welcoming to my father, nephew and I during our stay.

My friends and I stayed one night to go into aMike Denver dacne in the TF. We were actually driven there to the very door. When we arrived we had home made scones and tea. The hospitality we received was fantastic, I have even recommended this House to other people who say they will check it out the next time... More

During my recent visit to Castlebar in County Mayo, the wind and dampness may have been chilling, but the welcome I received during my stay at Windermere House B&B was warm and friendly. The B&B, run by The McGrath family is a stately yet modern red brick house that sits on N5 about halfway between Castlebar and Westport. On a... More
