Awful stay. Rooms old fashioned, outdated and unloved. Dirty old chairs in room. Confetti on floor in bathroom and carpet. Bathroom shabby with discoloured pictures and mouldy grout. I can't believe that these standards are still acceptable.

Stayed here twice, October 2014 and Feb 2015, two different but fabulous rooms. The pool is just perfect and the staff are extremely polite and courteous. Very good breakfast. Booked to stay again, says it all.

Had an over night stay due to business. Plenty of parking, friendly staff and the room was clean and tidy. Nice comfy bed and good shower. Breakfast in the morning was very good. The WIFI signal was not as strong as some hotels I have stayed in but was good enough to send a few emails, which did the job....

Excellent value for a Spa day on a voucher. The Spa has a calming relaxing ambiance with friendly and attentive staff. The treatment ladies gave a superb service and were clearly very experienced. My full body massage given by Annie was amazing. Coffee was brought to the Spa before the treatment and we sat in the bar for an unhurried...

A beautiful hotel with wonderful grounds. The room was clean and well furnished but a little dated and the general décor needed a refresh. The bathroom was rather odd with modern shower and 1970's style loo and sink, and quite a few cracked tiles. We only stayed one night which was not long enough to enjoy the facilities. We did...

We stayed one night on the Valentines package. On approaching the building it looks tired but you can’t judge a book by its cover! Inside, its age makes it interesting and quirky but there are all the modern facilities one expects. From start to finish the staff were very friendly and helpful – but not in an overbearing, intrusive sort...

Been here for afternoon tea a few times- excellent service and very well priced. I don't drink tea and they always arrange hot chocolate for me instead in the price. The sandwiches are very tasty and one of my friends is vegan and they made special arrangements for her too!

We booked afternoon tea for 14 of us for a birthday. Overall quite good variety, sandwiches, 3 choices tuna, cheese and tomato and egg mayo... no meat option?! Cupcakes, scones with jam and cream, macaroons and fruit tartlets. The waiter popped back now and then to check we were ok and refilled our tea/coffee as many times as we asked....

We have left after a one night stay at the hotel. The hotel is set in nice grounds and we had a spacious pleasant room in the main building. The public area decor is a little faded but has some lovely features. However, although all the staff were friendly, approachable and well mannered - there are shortcomings which alienate this...
