A family-run business, we have recently become apart of the DoubleTree by Hilton collection. Built in 1900, the hotel is surrounded by acres of beautifully landscaped gardens that overlook the town. With 14 function rooms, a fully equipped Spa and Health Club, and parking, our hotel is the perfect destination for both business and pleasure. A Victorian landmark, the four-star hotel has 184 bedrooms and sits in the heart of the spa town of Harrogate. Just a mile from the train station and 10 minutes walk from the famous Betty’s Tea Rooms, it’s the perfect location to enjoy Harrogate’s quaint shops and spas; you can also easily venture into the beautiful landscape of the Yorkshire Dales. The Harrogate Spa will be opening 1st November 2019, boasting a heated indoor pool, rasul, spa pool, sauna room and steam room with a built-in Hymalian salt wall and 6 treatment rooms, 2 of which are Doubles. We have everything you need to relax.

We were disappointed to find that this hotel was not only tired and soulless but that there are operational issues that directly impact on the quality of your stay. The hotel itself could be beautiful but it has been neglected for such a long time that it will take a major refurb to bring it up to the standards that you would expect. The hotel is soulless , just some simple solutions like background music in the common areas pictures in the hallways would go a long way to waning up the property. Our room had a redecoration a while ago but has not been maintained from large chunks of the bath panel missing to chipped and marked skirting boards all show a lack of care. The front desk staff are constantly overwhelmed as there is no concierge and only two check in desks so expect a long wait to check in or even to do something as simple as drop off a package for a guest. It would take much to fix this but judging by previous reviews no one wants to!

All went well with the checkin ,the room was good and spacious ,great bathroom/shower again roomy . It was when we went for our evening meal it went sadly downhill ,we placed our order which after quite a wait it arrived .The starters arrived mine was fine but i have never heard of fish bones in a Mackeral pate , as soon as the waitress presented me my meal i could tell it was cold and for a fish pie to be cold is not a good thing,i had noticed that a woman near us had cold fish and chips ,later to find out that this was a common problem. We finished our main course and were waiting for a minimum of half an hour for our plates to be cleared and this was only done because my wife sood up and asked "Is anybody working here tonight !" .The resturant duty manage came over and we had a chat !!! .The next morning we went for our breakfast a full english as you do and have paid for and yes that too was not cold but not far off of it and i hate cold breakfasts . So we learnt that the "chefs /cooks " were stand- ins as that is all they could get. So you pays your money and takes your chances on this one !!!!.

Stayed for 2 nights to attend a wedding 25th Sep 21. We were overcharged for our room, most of the staff were not approachable, informed or helpful, dirty drinks glasses, hair in food. I left an expensive camera adaptor in room, phoned numerous times, response on 6th time from different dept. It wasn't there, I was informed even though I left it plugged in? I would seriously think about staying at another hotel if visiting again, not value for money or service.

Not sure about all the bad reviews on this hotel, stayed one night and we held a charity dinner and presentations in one of their functions. It's a busy hotel, but aside from that service, food and room were all lovely. It's nice that the building still retains some of it's original features, a beautiful interior.

Stayed whilst on business in Harrogate. Hotel is tired and in need of renovation in many places. Check in experience was torture, took ages and staff didn't seem to know what was going on. Food was well overpriced as were drinks. Bar staff were not well trained and didn't even know how to open a bottle of wine with a cork!! Paid £195 per night for room only and an extra £15 for breakfast!! After staying 3 nights rooms weren't turned around using covid as the excuse. No fresh towels or tea / coffee were offered to us. Expected so much more from a Hilton hotel. Not my first bad expereicne of a Hilton recently. Won't be rushing back!
