The Majestic is certainly Majestic. A magnificent old building with grandiose reception areas, huge public rooms, amazing chandeliers, and fantastic architecture. However, it is much in need of a makeover. The last renovation as described on the plaque at the pathway entrance, tells us the hotel was built in 1900, and refurbished in 2000. We checked in and could hardly...

Dear Eric R, Thank you very much for taking the time to post your review. The Majestic is one of the most impressive and historic buildings here in Harrogate, built at the height of Harrogate's prosperity in 1900. As you can imagine with such a large building the staff work extremely hard on a daily basis to ensure that our...

My partner and I have just spent a three-night stay at the Majestic in Harrogate. I chose it because, in spite of the mixed reviews, I liked the look of it and its character. The purpose of our visit was to see Al Murray's show at the Royal Hall and since the Majestic is almost next door, it seemed a...

Very nice old building, just a 5 minute walk to the centre of Harrogate. Love the old features-quite old fashioned but clean and tidy. Our room was very large. Great Groupon deal. The food was quite good and felt the cost was well worth it. Breakfast was good with a nice buffet. Swimming pool was a bit disappointing-a rectangle and...

Stayed at the Majestic for my husbands birthday. We chose a garden view de luxe room as we had previously stayed in one last year. These rooms are recently refurbished and have a good size modern bathroom. On arrival there was a plate decorated with Happy Birthday and chocolates which was a nice touch. Bed was comfortable and the room...

This was my treat for my boyfriend's birthday so I wanted excellent, stunning, fabulous but it was just, well, OK - I upgraded us to a superior room but the king size bed was only just long enough to stop my feet from sticking out of the end and I'm only little - the breakfast was adequate, sausage just undercooked...

I tend not to take too much notice of reviews as what suits one person does not suit another. We arrived at 1.30pm earlier than expected, we went to reception to check in and were very lucky that we were able to go straight to our rooms. We were here for my daughters early 30th birthday spa break with family...
