We arrived early before our friends do had a Drink at the bar and a chat with the lovely barmaid. We had booked for the carvery which was as excellent as usual with beautiful tender roasts and delicious mashed potatoes and the usual veg carrots cauliflower and cabbage (my only complaint is alternative veg now and again would be nice)....

This place is a carnivores haven. Good choice of starters. Two of us had prawn cocktail which was filled with juicy prawns. One had the homemade chicken liver pate which was served with plenty of toast and garnish. The carvery is their speciality and seems to be the most popular. Choice of either pork, beef or turkey. Huge choice of...

We chose the carvery there were 3 meats all beautifully cooked and unusually we were asked 'is that enough'. There was a good choice of veg and the gravy was lovely. When they came for our plates we were asked if we had finished or Di we want to go for more. The sweets were on display and they looked...

We stayed here for the weekend and cannot fault the staff at this establishment. Friendly from the get go and nothing is too much, absolutely incredible service. The food is also very good, unfortunately we didn't get chance to have a lunch or evening meal but the breakfasts were fabulous. Everything was incredible, however unfortunately the plumbing let them down...

We did'nt stay here, just popped in for a Sunday evening meal. 2 perfectly cooked steaks and home made puddings. Can't say enough about the quality of food here. The steaks we had where cooked to perfection ( 1 rare + 1 Med rare) both served at exactly the same time. Perfect homemade chips & salad. The deserts where served...

Good value accommodation. The room and en-suite were clean and a good size, though other guests had a tendency to walk right passed (unnecessarily) our bathroom window. There is a restaurant with a carvery , lots of parking space and handily placed for Harrogate , Ripon, and Fountains Abbey.

We were 8 people when we went to the famous steak night a couple of days ago. I had creamed mushrooms with crispy bacon for starters, followed by ribeye steak. Well well. The starter was the best ever, and the steak was so tasty. We had few wines and beers, and the dessert was also to die for, as everything...

We arrived for a one-night stay. Booking in was straight forward and the staff friendly. The room was very small but adequate for our purposes. Sadly, the bed was very uncomfortable with a poor quality mattress that had springs poking into me all night. There was a bar/restaurant. The food was good but the beer was not so good with...

The mattress in question has been replaced. All rooms have been recently refurbed with new bathroom suites.new carpets and redecorated.I feel the comment not to stay with us or only if you need somewhere cheap is a bit harsh. We are a family run business caring for our customers for 52 years.Sorry you did not enjoy your stay.
