We have spent a special weekend at Du Vin Hotel Harrogate,we organised a 90th Birthday Party for our stepmother .Booked 12 fabulous rooms for the weekend and had a sit down meal for 30 in a private room Saturday Night, the staff were so nice ,pleasant, all with a smile on there face and the food was fabulous . The Hotel looked after us all from Breakfast, drinks in the afternoon, all the way through the evening meal and even then going back to a beautiful clean room for our night sleep . What I really noticed about the hotel was all the staff are professional, walk around with a smile on there face and they wanted you to have good time whilst the staff had a can do attitude,so refreshing .

Expensive room which was unbearably hot (on a cool September night) and the provided fan did nothing to improve the situation. Food in the restaurant was inconsistent: My starter poor but main course good my husband's starter was good but main course poor. Parking was a nightmare.

Dear Netty Thank you for sharing your review. We are disappointed to read that some of the dishes on the menu were not to your taste, we do make updates as the seasons changed. Harrogate is a challenge for parking and we are fortunate to have 27 private bays at the hotel. Should these be full, we do recommend either on street parking outside the hotel or the West Park multi-story which is a 5 minute walk. Best regards Adam Green General Manager

We had our Wedding Reception here, as well as 20 rooms booked for the eve and breakfast in the morning. We had previously view halls & barns etc but they were very expensive, some remote, and not covid flexible. We met with Charlotte of the events team to discuss how it might work. From the start she was friendly, helpful, down to earth. They were very covid flexible (in case of local lockdowns/international issues with guests travelling) which was a must for us – we didn't want that extra stress of being financially locked in. We went for a tasting meal which was INCREDIBLE – really blew us away. We met with Charlotte a couple of times before the day to run through details. The day itself was fantastic – it was so smooth and the team at HDV were so professional, helpful and fabulous. Our guests remarked on how great the food was and how perfect the venue was. And it was actually all quite reasonable in price. We didn't go for the 'honeymoon' suite but our room was still very large and really lovely. I'm so glad we chose HDV for our wedding – it was a huge hit with everyone, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. I

We had the Pol Roger suite on the top floor, accessible by a combination of the lift and stairs. It was a lovely large room with sloping ceilings (mind your head!) and wooden floors. There was a huge bathroom to the rear with a double shower and a separate bath. It was slightly odd to have the hand basin in the shower, and unfortunately, the light above this wasn't working which made it difficult to use at night. Both the room and the bathroom spanned the entire width of the building so we had double aspect windows in the room. The bed was huge and very comfortable and there was no noise at night. The Wi-Fi was quite quick and there were USB chargers by the bed and the desk. We couldn’t get parking on our first night (Saturday) as it was all taken by people who had arrived on Friday, but we were ok from the Sunday. We didn't eat any meals here, but did have good room service snacks on one night.

We booked a deluxe double for a one night stay and requested a room with a view and a good bathroom with free standing bath and a monsoon shower. True to their word the manager made sure we got a room that matched the quality of the photos on the website, which had been a concern given some reviews. We stayed in the George Merrill which had a huge bed, a chez lounge, a large TV, a big window overlooking the park, and a bathroom with a super hot free standing bath and a massive walk in monsoon shower - everything we wanted! The room was warm and cosy, the rest of the hotel clean and stylish, and the staff were all very friendly. Parking was out front (we arrived early and paid £10 for 24 hours) and the hotel is just 3 mins walk from a square of restaurants and cafes, and a similar short distance from the shopping area. All in all, we had a perfect stay and the hotel deserves the praise as things must have been very difficult because of Brexit and Covid and, as customers, we need to factor that in when we venture back into mini breaks as a lot has changed in 2 years.
