We stopped on the 18th March for 1 night. When we got there we parked at the back car park and used a voucher from the hotel which was £5.50 for 24 hours. When we checked in we was greeted by a really nice lady who gave us our keys we were given 1 of the new courtyard rooms which...

Very rare for me to post a bad review but this place was something else. Where can I start? Dreadful hotel, from start to finish. Turn up to find you need to pay an extra £100 on top of pre booked non cancellation - in case you trash the room!! And they'll pay it back after you've left..at some point....

They demanded a £100 deposit on top of the rate for the room. Outrageous! Lady on the desk was great, although wasn't clear on why she was being asked to take this money. Perhaps she should have been let in on this secret so she could pass it on to us? The man she put me through to wasn't anywhere...

Booked a single room for myself and 1 for my brother as we were working in the area, we both found the rooms very acceptable, clean and tidy everything worked and a great shower. The room was tidied daily and coffee and tea replenished. Rooms a little tired, but i did not expect a champagne reception for a lemonade price....

Really, really poor. Our room smelled strongly of cigarettes. We informed the receptionist straight away, who told us that there was another room available, but the bathroom light didn't work - so we decided to stick with what we had. Tired, dirty, no headboard or bedside table, one cup for tea and coffee and a dirty saucer, and found out...

OK, we paid £29 for a room on a Sunday night. It was a nice room, clean, but tired and in need of renovation as mentioned in other reviews. Everything worked and the shower was one of the best we have had in hotels. It has lovely views over an ancient school opposite. Nice lunch in Cafe Rene opposite and...

Very impressed with this hotel. Paid £29 on a promotion and we were very cautious due to refurbishment work ongoing and price. On arrival was greeted with friendly staff and a very clean and new looking hotel. Room was new and in great condition. I will be staying again. Rooms were cheap, staff were friendly and helpful and bar prices...

I appreciate the hotel is staying open during its refurb but this means there is noise and no breakfast. The new refurbished rooms are smart and clean with fridge and microwave (this may be because there is no food at present) The staff are helpful and polite. The room was VERY warm even though we had the radiator tuned off,...

Group of us fancied a short break. I found this place on-line. Chose it because it was "town centre" and close toi the docks. The rooms were in the process of refurbishing (according to the woman on the desk). That was an understatement. Noisy fans, draughty windows. Terrible.

Needed a simple room for one night. Checked prices and New County came up the cheapest. Check in was simple and straightforward although I would recommend installing a simple coat hook at reception had to rest my suit carrier over a chair or on the floor. I had room 39 which was on top floor. Room was fine, clean and...
