I haven't been to the Carpenters Arms for sometime and the landlord/lady has changed & it was nice to be welcomed with a smile which wasn't the case with the previous landlord. 12 of us sat down for lunch and all the meals were served together and the waiting staff were very helpful-nothing seemed too much trouble. The quality of...

This place has real potential, which hopefully the new owners have recognised & have a refurbishment plan & a decent chef lined up. On a positive note the room & food & drink prices are quite low so if you're on a tight budget it could be right up your street.

Best bit, dog friendly so our pup can come too :) Will be...

We chanced upon the carpenters arms and couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. It's a good old fashioned British pub with food, feels homely and welcoming. The food was all home cooked including pate, pickle and tartare sauce. The staff was excellent and we overall had a really good experience.

Went for Sunday lunch with a party of ten, ranging I age from 8 to 80. The staff were great and the food was excellent. We akk had the Sunday roast - some beef, some turkey (some both!), and a couple of lamb shanks. There were no complaints. Simple food done really well with plenty of trimmings. There were lots...
