went for the carvery but they do it as Sunday lunch now just as nice better than the carvery because it was hotter !! perhaps not as much food but you do seem to overload your plate on the carvery and not finish it,excellent service will be back soon, have had the menu before which is also good. nice atmosphere

I booked a room at the Jolly Carter on the strength of previous good reviews on Tripadvisor. I was not dissapointed. In fact, I was delighted by every aspect of my stay. The warm welcome from Steve the manager and bar staff set a high bench mark that never dipped. My room was very clean and comfortable and, at £45/...

Good standard British pub food cooked well. The cheese pie was tasty but I do prefer a pie with proper shortcrust not just a lid I do find that a bit of a cop out but all in all very good average food and all our steaks were cooked to perfection. Would be nice to see this place back to...

A beautiful Christmas dinner at The Jolly Cater, couldn't have made better myself, best tomato and basil soup I have ever tasted. Thanks to all the staff for their hard work and excellent service as usual. Hope you all have a lovely Christmas.

The meats were cooked to usual perfection but the veg was dry and appeared to have been stood for some time. The roasties were dry and frozen and the Yorkshire puddings were rubbery. We did wonder if the chef had...

Good range of alcohol - I picked local ale bank top blonde. Carvery very tasty and pub clean and not very busy. Different sections for TV, dining, drinking. I did not expect change from a tenner on a Sunday! Very much value for money. Would go again if I was in the area.
