We stayed at Elm tree accommodation as we were going to a concert at the bowl. We stayed two nights and it was very reasonably priced. The apartment was well equipped with oven, grill and microwave and would have been ideal for a longer self catering stay. The apartment was clean and tidy. The bed was very comfortable. Small area outside with table and chairs looking over a well kept garden area. Overall a good base for exploring. We will definitely stay here again if we find ourselves down Milton Keynes way.

Despite their description of just microwave and kettle there was a hob, toaster, iron and ironing board and a really good powerful walk in shower -so everything someone travelling for business or pleasure could want. The room was attractively furnished too

Thought carefully about this review as I'm aware it is someone's livelihood and I'm well aware of the soaring costs of running a business - I'm hoping it is a true reflection and contains constructive criticism. We stayed in the 2 bedroom 'cottage'. Firstly the positives. Spotless, spacious bedrooms, well equipped kitchen area, lots of towels (but no bath sheets) and plenty of hot water. Lovely, well tended courtyard. Peaceful, ideally placed for Silverstone racetrack (20 mins). Pub across the road (didn't visit). Now the not so positives. Signage is poor at night. There is no light over the main sign on the road so for someone unfamiliar with the area and arriving in the dark in the driving rain it is potentially dangerous to be crawling along trying to find it on a busy road. First impressions on entering was a sparse, clinical space (every wall is white), devoid of colour or cosiness. Sleeps 4 but only a 2 seater sofa with an IKEA chair and dining chairs to sit on. Bedroom furniture tired, beds not comfy (double mattress was hard, pillows lumpy and a loose headboard that rattled). DVD player didn't work. Was reported but then heard nothing more. This place has the potential to be lovely, cosy and welcoming with some personal touches. Some fresh milk, more bright and cheerful pictures, a couple of colourful throws, even just a vase of flowers! I found the list of expectations rather military - strip beds, clean kitchen, run dishwasher... understandable that they need doing but a 'please' or' thank you' doesn't cost anything, or even a 'we would be grateful if....' I just didn't feel that this 'cottage' was a relaxing, friendly, welcoming and cosy space and unfortunately it didn't represent good value for money (£368 for 2 nights - ouch!!) In my experience, it is the little touches that make a big difference and Elm Tree Cottage was sadly lacking. It was basic and functional, but left me feeling flat and ready for my home comforts.

We were able to check in early and I was so happy with the accommodation. The room was large and spotlessly clean. Bed was comfortable as were the pillows. The bathroom again was large and very clean. There was everything you needed to stay self catering. The location is great just opposite the navigation inn and the grounds were well tended. Had a lovely stay - thank you.

This is not my first stay at Elm Tree Cottage, in fact I've stayed quite a few times before the new accommodation had been built. The welcome and friendly smiles hadn't changed one bit however and you will be made to feel very welcome. We had a big few days ahead and the super hearty breakfast really was appreciated. All rooms are ensuite and immaculate upon arrival and setting is amazing. It was hard to believe that we were still in the UK with all the current stress and turmoil. Totally recommend Elm Tree Cottage for any length of stay and I'll be back for sure.

We have stayed here twice for the MotoGP weekend in August, always superb! Wouldn't want to go anywhere else! The Navigation Inn pub across the road is also great and we ate there every night. We usually stay for 3 nights. Hopefully can accommodate us again for 2021. We were sad not to visit this year!

Lucy is a great host. Everything was very clean and all was spot on. There are 8 rooms to choose from. Very well set up and dog friendly which was great. There is free parking, lovely walks nearby as it is right by the grand union canal. Also there is a top pub opposite that does great food. Great for a break to be in the country but only 5 mins from the city centre.
