We stayed overnight on Sunday on our way down to Cornwall. What a find, truly a five star establishment. Joan who runs the Jessop is very professional and warm, and cannot do enough to make the stay special Joan offered before we came a few days previous if we would like her to book the excellent Italian restaurant a few doors away. It’s that sort of detail and care that makes a visit to Jessop House so special Also the breakfast is one of the best you can ever get in a b&b, the rooms are immaculate and very comfortable, all this is because of Joan’s professionalism arising from a lifetime experience in hotels Joan makes the Jessop and make a visit to the Cotswolds special
Of road parking at the rear, rare in Tewkesbury. 5 minutes walk to town centre and restaurants. Comfortable room, great breakfast choices and a nicely laid out dining room. The only caveat is if you have problems with stairs this is not for you. It's a medieval building and lifts are not allowed or indeed not possible. Multi channel TV in the room, Netflix etc included.
We stayed at Jessop House for a couple of nights. Joan was very welcoming on arrival and showed us to our room on the 2nd floor at the front of the house. The room itself was spacious, well decorated, spotless and with all the usual facilities you'd expect. The bathroom was also lovely. As it was above the road, it could be a little noisy at night with the windows open, but it didn't disrupt our sleep too much. There were great breakfast options, we had the full english and the quality of the food and cooking on both days was exceptional. The hotel is well placed for the Abby, local parks and the town centre and the Italian restaurant next door was pretty good too. We'd have no problems recommending Jessop House and Joan.
Stayed one night in this charming hotel. We got a bit lost finding the carpark but the owner was more than happy to help when we rang for directions. I believe it is a building from 1200’s, beautifully done with comfy ensuite rooms. Very quiet with all amenities we needed for the night. Lovely town with plenty of choice for an evening meal to walk to and a playground nearby for our daughter. Breakfast made to order with cereal, fruit and a cooked meal. Lovely night and very accommodating owner.
Wanted to say the biggest Thankyou to Joan for our wonderful overnight stay. Booked this for me and my three sisters. I wanted to treat them to an overnight stay in the Cotswolds. Joan couldn’t do enough for us from the minute I booked. Joan you are adorable nothing is too much trouble. Your rooms are just gorgeously decorated everywhere was spotless. And that breakfast was sublime has kept us all going all day Thankyou my darling❤️♥️🥰Joan highly recommended
Jessop House is an efficiently run B&B situated in the heart of Tewkesbury. Convenient location for visiting the abbey and other places of interest and for restaurants and shops, but some traffic noise in rooms at the front. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and of high quality. Room was large and well-equipped. Owner is efficient and friendly. An rnjoyable two night stay
B&B situated in the heart of Tewkesbury, we stayed here as an alternative to Cardiff/Bristol for the Ed Sheeran concert. We arrived before 4 and I called the host Joan (not Lucy as per my Booking.com review sorry) to be fair Joan came back from Cheltenham to check us in so we could get gone. We were at the back which was quiet as the A38 can sometimes get busy, we didn’t hear a thing. Room quirky with uneven floors, out of square windows, all expected from one of the oldest properties in the town. Bed super comfy, breakfast was great. We stayed two days and it was faultless. There is parking, it can be a squish but not an issue. St Mary’s lane has a car park cash/card £4 and we parked from midnight on the 27th to 8am on the 28th, Joan even offered to refund us which was nice and shows how much Joan does for her customers. Short walk to the Abbey (2/3 mins) which is well worth a visit. Would I stay again yes Thanks for being a great host and sorry for calling you Lucy in the Booking.com review, must have been thinking of Lucy Liu…
Spent 2 nights at this b&b. Room was large, beautifully decorated and extremely clean. It was very quiet and didn't hear the other guests come and go. A very tasty, well cooked breakfast and nothing was too much trouble. My husband who has Parkinsons took quite a tumble down the stairs as we were leaving. But the hostess was extremely caring and popped him on a chair to recover and took our luggage out to the car. Car park at back of hotel was very handy and the Italian restaurant next door worth visiting. We walked to the worcestshire beacon one day and then the next day visited Newark Park national trust property.
I have stayed a couple of times at The Jessop House Hotel in Tewkesbury for business purposes. I have loved the rooms I've stayed in. 5 star rating lives up its reputation too. Absolutely love the decor 😍 Creatives will love the hotel & will love the Tewkesbury culture especially the buildings dating back centuries. Recommend staying for tourism visits & business trips 👌 Owner Joan makes you feel welcome and gives a great service.
A very clean well decorated B &B with 8 rooms inc. family rooms Breakfast was excellent and catered for me as a coeliac - very knowledgeable on this. We were upgraded to the superior room ( covid cancellations) Joan could not do enough for us Excellent value for money
