Although some of the rooms could do with a refresh this is a convenient and friendly hotel with attentive staff. Two bars and a restaurant and several good restaurants nearby. There was a problem with breakfast, sounded like the kitchen was in meltdown, but I was promised a free meal next time and also received a courtesy call to follow...

The staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean if a little tired and in need of renovation (eg wallpaper was curling up on the wall). Adjoined restaurant was nice and the lunch was very good too. Overall though the place was in need of a little modernisation.

We booked at the last minute and were pleased to find anywhere in the area to stay, so we can't really complain, but I would just like to reiterate what other reviewers have said about The Annexe, which is a converted chalet type house right next to the A6 at the far side of the car park and a long...

I stayed in this hotel for approximatly 12 weeks, the rooms are comfortable and clean. They need a little redecorating as they are a little tired, as are the bathrooms. The staff more than make up for this. kAthryn and the girls on reception are excellent very attentive and helpful. The walled garden staff are good and the ladies serving...

Went here for lunch. Good food and service fantastic. Couldn't do enough for us. One of our party had some special diet requirements and the staff went above and beyond to help us. Really helpful and welcoming staff who couldn't do enough for us would highly recommend a visit here

From the moment we arrived to leaving we had a marvellous experience. We arrived an hour early so planned a cuppa but we were told we could have our afternoon tea straight away. The lady looking after us was lovely and very attentive. We had a lovely caffetiere of fresh coffee each which was replaced as we emptied them. The...

I first visited for a business meeting nearby in June. I was given a free family room upgrade, and we were treated royally. The decor reflects the major expansion of the site undertaken in the 1970s, but the service, food and accommodation are very much up to date. The hotel includes an indoor swimming pool. Pam, reservations manager, is excellent...

Had such a lovely afternoon with my mother in law & her friend visiting from Spain....only because we made it so I'm afraid! Always had a lovely meal & service here but I'm afraid this time the staff we're alien to the usual service standards . I will go back in hope that it was an 'off' day for some...

This is second attempt at posting a review for this hotel. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone for a wedding, the bar prices are nothing short of daylight robbery and the MC\DJ is nothing short of a bully who loves the sound of his own voice and would be better suited in a career with the Prison Service,...
