Very welcoming and friendly staff. Nice bar area and nice breakfast. I wasn't too impressed with the dinner however, it was ok but not restaurant quality. Room was nice enough and ok for the money. Plenty of car parking. WIFI in the room requires the TV to be on which isn't ideal first thing on a morning when the wife... More

Stayed overnight on our way down to Somerset. Its a great place - The complimentary drink on arrival was welcome! The room was lovely - newly decorated and the tea tray with homemade shortbread was a nice touch. Nice little touches throughout the room - nice soaps and lotions in the bathroom, nice selection of teas and coffees on tray,... More

We recently dined at The Lodge whilst on holiday in the area. Fortunately for us it happened to be on a Monday evening when most of the main course menu was half price so was amazing value. Our food was fresh and tasty. The service was very slick but we didn't feel any pressure to eat up and leave. We... More

I was absolutely staggered on arrival to the Lodge as I was expecting a budget hotel at the price I paid and was blown away by its beauty. Greeted by friendly, wonderful staff and shown to a newly decorated, very comfortable room, stocked with teas, coffees and amazing shortcake biscuits that were to die for. Very clean, well appointed, quiet... More

First visit here and wasn't disappointed. It was a family birthday party. Our meals were very good. Served by pleasant and welcoming staff. Food presented well. Good choice of menu. Was a lot bigger than I thought, serving a lot of people, lots of groups too not just couples. Really pleased we chose there. Nice idea of having Gift Vouchers... More

First visit since the refurbishment and drive past every evening so decided to give it a go for Mum's Birthday. Decor is to a good standard and looks bigger than it used too. Visited Monday lunchtime and had a drink in the bar area first then were taken through to the dining area, which was fairly busy. Waitress was very... More

Wow, what a fantastic home form home experience. Went for 4 nights, 2 adults, 2 children and 3 dogs. Yes, the décor had bits that could be tarted up, but for the cost, and being only 20 mins drive away from the Lake District, it was PERFECT. From the time we arrived to the time we left, staff were so... More

The Lodge was an excellent end to our MG car club rally. They helped plan the lunch, the car parking, the layout of tables etc. And the Sunday lunch was excellent. Rarely has there been so much good feedback from everyone about the range and quality of the food and the lovely helpful service. A great building and a memorable... More
