Have stopped at these tearooms twice (a year apart) for lunch. First visit - egg mayo sandwich, tea, scone. Lovely food, great service. We sat outside in the lovely courtyard. Second visit - mini English breakfast, tea, cake. Lovely food again, great service again, sat inside in the lovely cafe. I would come here time and time again as it's a lovely place to stop at for lunch and the food is great. The only suggestion for improvement that I would make is to have a little more variety in sandwich fillings and jacket potato fillings. I.e. there is no prawn marie rose option for sandwich/jacket and no chilli filling option for a jacket. That is only a minor point though, it's really nice here. On both occasions I have visited on a weekday, i.e. Friday so can't comment on what it's like at the weekend.…
Touring through the Cotswalds we ended up at The Bantam having read they also serve gluten free and dairy free. From the outside you are lured in by all the tasty cakes in the window. Inside we were greeted and seated by the owner and we can only say she seems to run a tight ship with an eye for detail. The place is immaculate. Beautifully done up in a pleasant mix of old and new. And not only the tea room itself, but also the toilets were others often let you down. (Nice touch: a picture of an Bantam motorcycle in the Gents). Staff was friendly, helpfull and even patient with us because they had to bear with all our different dietary needs. Wich was no problem for them at all. They just fiddled a bit with the menu to make it fit. Gluten and dairy free salmon sandwich and a toastie for my wife and daughter. And for me a non gluten free scone to die for. Can't I fault The Bantam then? Yes I can. It's too far from my home, so another visit isn't going to happen soon.…
We stopped off for an extremely enjoyable lunch at Bantams. Extensive menu including an all day breakfast. Lots of different sandwiches, paninis and toasted and also a soup of the day. We both went for sandwiches which came with salad and chutney. Very tasty and pretty good value. Staff very pleasant too.
we were so happy to arrive at the bantam tea rooms and guest house at the end of walking the cotswold way. the room was lovely and a great bathroom. so comfortable. we had a cream tea here as well as spending 3 nights. all was terrific. nice breakfast and good, friendly service. highly recommend.
Gorgeous rooms , very quirky and lovely and clean.Right in centre of town with parking behind. Great service. Breakfast was a bit strange as there was no specific food for vegans or veggies, you just chose bits off the main English breakfast menu like mushrooms, avocado slices, baked beans, grilled tomato. This lead to us having a very odd combination. I would have thought that a tea room like this could have been a little more imaginative for vegetarians and vegans. I would not return on this basis as I’m sure there are other places that have embraced plant diets more in the area.
The best scone in the world. We were staying in Chipping Campden for a week. We had tea and scones as many times as we could This tea room is the real deal. They had the most quaint dining area The staff is over the top friendly. The back garden is so inviting. And the bathrooms are clean and charming. I will miss this tea room. Above and beyond a must visit while in the Cotswolds
If you want an outstanding scone or English breakfast be sure to stop in! While in Chipping Campden we came here twice which was not enough!! Plenty of seating and fantastic service! Great atmosphere and easy to locate on High Street! Quaint!
Everything about Bantam Tea Rooms is a delight -- the staff are wonderful, the tea rooms are cozy (and the food/drinks are delicious), and the rooms are incredibly cozy. It's a perfect place to stay for anyone visiting the Cotswolds -- a roomy, comfortable, and delightfully quaint B&B. Cannot recommend enough!!
Visited for an afternoon tea as a group of 6. Tea rooms were busy but only had to wait 10 minutes max for a table by the log fire. Very olde worlde. Staff very attentive. Had 3 x afternoon tea for two and they were amazing. Choose our own sandwiches, scone and cake. More than enough so took the rest with us!! Food served till 4 and dog friendly. Great tea room with great atmosphere.
The most delicious afternoon tea! A choice of freshly made sandwiches, a generous slice of cake (from a selection) with a fluffy scone and clotted cream and jam as well. Excellent service too. So mice I booked a weekend accommodation later in the year!
