I booked this hotel as living in the region all my life, I know it's a good hotel. I stayed here the night before my wedding and also my wedding night. I booked a junior suite and asked for a nice room, and what I got was The Midland Suite itself! Absolutely blown away by the rooms, the cleanliness, the...

My husband and I stayed here last Saturday night. Although our room was not guaranteed to be ready until three o'clock it was waiting for us when we arrived at one o'clock. We had reserved a junior suite and it was absolutely beautiful! The lounge area was large, spacious and comfortable. There was a complimentary bottle of red wine, a...

Stayed here for the Foo Fighters Concert and reserved two rooms, a standard and superior through booking.com. The superior room was large enough to qualify as a suite although the furniture feels a little bit dated and the layout of the room odd with the pillar in the middle and the TV dropped on a table some distance away from...

One night city break. Fantastic reputation. Nice friendly and efficient staff. Decor a little tired in places but you can feel the atmosphere and history. Book the afternoon tea and restaurant if you want them, you will not get in on the day. Pool was closed due to new spa facility being built which did detract a little from the...

It looked nice walking in but the rooms where rather small. A twin room at £120 per night, you would've thought they could've at least supplied 2 bottles of water per room. Not one small bottle to share. That extra would've helped waking up thirsty! Not worth the money for breakfasted either. Toast cold, asked for more hot/ warm toast...

We had a wonderful stay at the midland and an amazing meal at the French restaurant. The staff had a birthday card and small cake and chocolate truffles in the room when we arrived. When we finished our fantastic 10 course meal in the French restaurant they presented my husband with a small chocolate cake with a fabulous gold ballon...

Had afternoon tea today as a group of 3 friends, really lovely experience, looked after really well by Leanne, elegant surroundings, excellent service, plenty of food which was of good quality. Only improvement that could be made was a little less cooking time on the scones!! Bit hard, on the whole an excellent afternoon tea, will definitely be visiting again...
