Arrived friday night to find that most of the car parks (there are a few and they are quite large but not tarmacced- it rains a lot in Manchester! ) were full. I later found out that people left their cars there whilst flying out from Manchester Airport. Reception was fine but with a faint smell of chlorine from the...

Nice size rooms and bathroom, pretty clean. Kettle, tea and coffee in the room. Parking available as well. Very interesting reception and bar area, has got a very old movie feel. I spent 1 night there and the room was very basic, bed is not very comfortable, it's located in the middle of nowhere, are doesn't inspire too much confidence...

I and some friends took our first coach holiday with a "mystery hotel" which turned out to be this Britannia Country House. It turned out to be very good value - the rooms were more than adequate and the dinner was excellent, although the choice in our restaurant was limited. Breakfast (either full English or continental) was also very good...

15 years ago, this hotel must have been top of the range, but now is a little tired and in need of updating. that said, it was comfortable (although a/c doesn't work), bar prices very reasonable and breakfast typical buffet fare. this hotel not appears to specialise in airport parking / one night stays and is good at it --...

Friday & Saturday stay with an evening meal arranged for the Saturday. Quality of the hotel Ok for the price - in need of some refurbishment e.g. 'Jenny's' dining room chairs. Public and corridor areas etc clean enough, but could be a little better. Single room Ok size and facilities wise, bathroom good but the room proved quite noisy during...

Arrived 3.pm had been upgraded to a larger room without asking.Pleasantly surprised, room was large with settee and large bed. Mattress a bit uncomfortable but was ok for overnight. Room clean. Dinner was carvery style and quite adequate for one night. Only downside, no room at bar later as appeared to be a lot of workmen there using the hotel....

Doesn't live up to the title of country house. Is in need of facelift across the hotel reception, lobby and the room. Walls are covered in scrapes and marks. Stained mattress. Definitely not worth the £100 that we spent.
