We stayed at The Principal for 1 night and we were very happy with our stay. The rooms are very spacious and clean and the ceilings are so high. It was a bit of a walk to our hotel room as the hotel is very big but that wouldn't stop me from staying at the hotel again. The staff from...

Just back from this great hotel. This amazing hotel is in a great location in the centre of Manchester. Very close to both Picadilly and Oxford Rd Stations, the hotel is very styish and has a modern yet classic feel. The room we stayed in was massive, very clean and functional. Lovely bathroom with a deep bath which many hotel...

I have stayed at this hotel twice now and love the décor and friendliness of the staff here. The breakfast is very good and the prices in the hotel bar are good in comparison to many other hotels of this standard in the city. The rooms vary in size but the facilities remain the same, and have quirky décor and...

Stayed overnight on a midweek works night out. Having seen the photos on the site and then the price of the deal I was worried that there was going to be a catch. There wasn't. This is a fabulous hotel with one of the most impressive lobbies I've ever seen. The rooms are equally impressive. Check-in and very early checkout...

I managed to get this place on a cheap last minute deal and I almost wish I hadn't because it has spoilt me for anywhere else! It has been an awe inspiring experience literally! The entire building is truly stunning and steeped in history, the breathtaking entrance, stonework, incredibly high ceilings (even in my room the windows seemed about 50ft...

The first impression when you walk into the lobby is great. The building and the decoration are amazing however the service we received was disappointing. We booked a twin double room instead of a double bed room just because the twin room said it had city views. At our arrival we were given a room in the ground floor that...

We spent one night at The Principle and loved the hotel atmosphere and decor. The staff at checkin and checkout were exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. You can tell they take a lot of pride in their hotel. The breakfast was fantastic as well. However, there were a few minor flaws. The bed was small. Not really suitable for two people....

For a 5 star hotel our room wasn't great. In the lower ground with a brick wall a few inches from the window. No air con so it was very hot. Described as a double room meant it had a double bed which isn't quite the same. The decor was fine.

I am staying at the Principal right now, checking out this morning. What went well? The building is splendidly ornate and a reminder of the great Victorian age of architecture and artisanship, with tiling and ornate touches everywhere. It's a lovely place. The room also fell into this category. The location is perfect for exploring Manchester on foot, just ten...
