Me and my sister went for a spa day at the malmaison hotel which included lunch. The spa was lovely (was a shame that there wasn't much facilities, not too sure it should be called a spa more like book yourself in for a couple of treatments) nevertheless I must say the therapists were outstanding! The massage was incredible and...

The Malmaison Hotel is a bit different from your mainstream city hotels which I really like. It's trendy, stylish and a little bit quirky! We checked in and then went up to our room which was decorated in true malmaison style. I love the fact that the hotel encourages you to take home the shower gels and shampoos which is...

Lovely room great hotel, location really good for train and city. Upgraded to an exec room, divine bed and best night sleep in ages. Really good deal under 100. Only negative was not having a plug socket near the bed to charge phone. Restaurant was expensive, try waldour down the road- spot on

We decided to eat here as is was central for clients I was meeting and we all fancied steak, makes sense being close to the station and a steak house restaurant . Well this was a terrible experience ! First of all they had no rib of beef , t bone , sirloin so we all settled for the fillet....

I stayed in Manchester after a very stressful week at work. On arrival I had a courteous but less than friendly welcome from the businesslike woman on reception. However my room was plush, luxurious and far nicer than I had expected. Comfortable bed, free wi fi, a mini fridge and tea and coffee laid on, as well as nicely done fittings....

We stayed here on a Friday in March as we were seeing a show at the MEN. Have stayed in Malmaisons elsewhere and sometimes found them to be a little underwhelming however the Manchester hotel has completely changed my mind! Love everything about the decor and the room was immaculate, bed comfortable and even though it is located centrally you...

Great location in Manchester, although Piccadilly is not the chicest part of town. Rooms are a good size and nicely decorated. Would definitely stay again especially on a Sunday when you can get a good room rate.

Great evening meal in the restaurant 1st night, thoughtful menu very well executed at reasonable prices and served by top notch well motivated waiting team. Breakfast selection not massive (no meat or cheese on a continental buffet???) but what was available was very good quality and again we were cared for by great friendly staff. Given a really nice sized...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Mal Manchester: In the home of the beautiful game you're about to turn Moulin Rouge. A short trundle for wheel-based luggage from Piccadilly Station and you're at the Mal - somewhere in the mists between Paris and the 24-hour party city. You cross the chessboard reception and suddenly you're a king for the knight. It's your move. Smoak Bar and Grill at Mal Manchester: A grill room and bar quite unlike anything Manchester has ever before seen. Set in the award-winning Malmaison Hotel minutes from Piccadilly station, Smoak is total indulgence for the senses. The amazing aroma of nation's finest oak-smoked steaks and fresh fish, served to a pewter counter or cosy booth. Imagine great imported beers, cocktails and bubbly served from an unusual sunken bar, with highly skilled mixologists serving you while you stay seated. Picture a stylish relaxed but chic interior a mix of booths, banquettes and counter stools. Come lunchtime and it's locally sourced bread, generously filled sandwiches and salads or full blown grill dining for the more adventurous lunchtime escapee. Come sundown the mood changes and we turn the aromas up to eleven. The cocktails flow, the steaks sizzle, the music turns up and the night begins. Ember Lounge at Mal Manchester: We could tell you about the Ember Lounge - an immaculate and opulent cocktail bar furtively hidden to the rear of the Smoak Bar & Grill. ... more   less
