Pros: ----- - Good location, in the heart of Manchester and in front of the main Cathedral - No bad odors Cons: ------- - I wouldn't book if I knew that there is no elevator and I had to lift my heavy luggage by my own upstairs without any help. Serve your self. - Reception not so good, not so... More

Worst hotel room ever. We booked for 2 nights in the Mitre's "executive" room and left after the first night. We paid £154 per night, so were expecting a reasonable quality room. What we got was a room above a bar that played loud music until 1am, followed by almost an hour of noisy banter from those turned out. Unknowingly,... More

Found this hotel last minute for an extremely good deal of £35 for the night. We had a twin room on the top floor with shared bathroom. Rooms were very basic but clean and comfortable. The bathroom situation although not ideal, was very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful! Couldn't have asked for a better location! Would definitely return!

there is nice option for budget travellers, we were that ones. The room has a lot of windows and looks nice, but people from another building can see you easily. So you need to use towel. I didn´t like bathroom, because it s old, but it works very well. And we didnt complain because of the price. If you want... More

You couldn't wish for a better location, situated along the cathedral yard next to the corn exchange and Harvey Nics. The staff were very friendly but the hotel was in desperate need of some tender loving. Our room was not exactly what is portraid on their web site. It was small with and old sagging mattress, you could feel and... More

Purchased a Groupon voucher for a 2 course meal for 2 with wine. The food was excellent, I chose to have a starter and main and had tortilla's with chilli, cheese and jalapeños and steak, chips and pepper sauce. The waitress was friendly and helpful. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is that when we arrived there was... More

Positives: Cheap Great central location. Polite friendly staff. Negatives: Does not look like the website, most annoyed with booking.com for this. The sides of bath was dirty, under the toilet had some brown leak. When it rained heavily water leaks from the roof into the room see photos (the shiny thing drip from the spoke detector is water dripping through... More

You get what you pay for! The price of this hotel is comparatively low for Manchester and it serves its purpose...a good night sleep for whatever brings you to Manchester. If you are there in the winter pack extra layers to sleep because the room gets a little drafty. The historic charm of the building's interiors are a plus but... More

Very friendly and helpful staff with a welcoming reception. The room was clean and basic, which is all you need for one night. Onsite restaurant was lovely and with 15% off for staying in hotel made it even better. Breakfast was lovely, hash brown was especially tasty. Would definitely book again as right in the centre of Manchester.

Was visiting Manchester for the day and picked up the offer on Groupon. Steak and wine for two. The place was very busy and very noisy. The waitress put us in a slightly quieter area. Service was good the staff were very friendly and professional. Food and drink were very nice and reasonably priced.
