Room very shabby. Not ecpecting the Midland but somewhere clean and up to date. Pictures nothing like the real thing. We paid in full were not expecting something for nothing. Sorry not up to scratch.

Our room was in the first floor and the music from the bar was so loud you could feel the floor shaking. It's not mentioned in any point during the booking that the bar is open till 1am on weekends (instead of the normal 11pm). There floor has no soundproofing so you could as well try sleeping in the bar.... More

I was unsure how many stars to remove and settled on 3 as 4 is 'Very good' and I didn't feel that was fitting. The hotel rings you at 9pm to ensure you are still coming and can find it, which is attentive. However upon entering the large room there was a pungent 'drain' smell coming from the bathroom and... Nice daytime boozer near C/F. Beer is decent. Good food. Probably okay for kids during the day. Bogs are not appalling. Not too expensive. Marks the end of one of the C/F pub crawls. Not rough. Bar staff nice.

When I got to the hotel it was very confusing as to where I booked in . I had to wait ages at the bar and was ignored by the person who eventually checked me in. I was not made to feel welcome . The person did however show me to my room. The room was fine although it was... More

Booked here as we were at a wedding nearby and this was within walking distance. On arrival a young lady who I assume was responsible for seating guests in the restaurant spotted us and immediately asked if she could help. Check in was done quickly and we were shown to our room. The room was quite basic (e.g. no toiletries... More

I arrived at The Ox and though I wasn't entirely sure where I had to check in, I was promptly served at the bar by a pleasant member of staff who checked me in speedily and showed me to my room, giving me the wifi code en route! I was in room 4; a clean and spacious double with plenty... More

Stayed here when going to a gig in the Ritz. Had room overlooking main road, but as we didn't get back until 3am, traffic noise wasn't a big issue. Room was clean and tidy, but the floor creaked like crazy, both in the room and up the stairs to the room, so a quiet entry is highly unlikely. In spite... More

On arrival we informed there was no provision for parking, which added an additional cost. The room had to be navigated up two very steep flights of stairs. The three bedroom suite was situated on a very busy road side with constant stream of traffic. One of the bed was placed in what had clearly been previously a storage space,... More
