I made my booking through the hotel's website since I was booking 3 months before arrival and the other booking sites did not have availability. I was glad I did! I booked a single room with breakfast and upon arrival (by train, walking through town to the hotel, 15 mins) I found my room not quite ready (arrived early) however...

The Hostellerie le Marechal was a wonderfully quaint and comfortable hotel in the charming town of Colmar. It sits right next to the canal so there's no noise from traffic. Since much of the town is "pedestrian only" shopping and restaurants are all hust a short walk away. Our room was much larger than what's typically found in European hotels...

This hotel has it all. My wife and I spent our 27th Wedding Anniversary here and we couldn't have chosen a better location. Our room was exquisite with a view of the canal. We stayed in the Wagner Suite. The food was amazing. Truly a gourmet experience. The staff were remarkable. And they bent over backwards to accommodate your every...

In October 2017 we booked in impromptuly as we had found Colmar so charming we wished to spend more time there. The staff at Marechal could not have been more welcoming nor more helpful. An ancient building like this is bound to have quirky corners, small lifts and small rooms. But it had everything we needed and was most comfortable....

Little Venice is charming area in Colmar. We had booked classic room but were upgraded to "Beethoven" room. Room was clean and big enough with minbar and jacuzzi. Customer service of everything was just perfect. We travelled by car and private garage was 400 m away but that was okey. It was really nice to walk around the centre such...

We enjoyed the location central to the walking district in Colmar, and easy to navigate in and out of the city by car. The staff were wonderful. The restaurant for dinner was amazing! The rooms are of an older style. What you give up in room amentities are well compensated by a wonderful overall experience.

This hotel is in "little Venice" and has all the charm you can handle! It looks very German with the wood beams, the staff are very friendly and the rooms were great! This hotel is must if you are going to visit Colmar!

For me the biggest post-stay question is always whether I'd want to return to a hotel. And in this case, the answer is a definite yes. There were a few problems -- a lack of storage space; a shower door that wouldn't close, forcing you to choose between flooding the floor or using just a trickle of water; a coverlet...

Had a very splendid stay in this charming Romatik Hotel some time ago. Being an "old lady", she carries her age with beauty and style. Good breakfast and traditional Alsatian cuisine for lunch and dinner. Parking just a short distance away. We will be back.

Probably, this is the best place to stay in Colmar. Located in 'Petit Venice' district, beautiful views from windows, comfortable rooms, vintage decorations, friendly staff... Really enjoyed our stay there!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Tranquility of a village at the water’s edge, right in the centre of town. Old, half-timbered houses, balconies heaped with flowers, weeping willows which dip their boughs into the Lauch waters… this is the heart of Colmar, the old quarter which is so picturesque that it has been called “Little Venice”. Constructed in 1565 on the fortified walls which encircle the old town (11th century), the Hostellerie « Le Maréchal » welcomes you to the center of this enchanting spot. Everything about the place has charm, tranquility, elegance and courtesy. Why not try a four poster bed from the yesterdays ? The owners, Family BOMO, will personally ensure your comfort. The 30 Rooms and suites are nostalgic, furnished with good brocades and antiques, but with 21st century conveniences : TV LCD HD (international chanels), WIFI, Minibar, Phone, Individual Air Conditioning, WC, Safe, Hair Dryer, all equiped with bath (some with whirpool bathroom) and shower (some with massage shower). ... more   less
