Hotel de l'Opera is in a top location in the heart of Bordeaux, just on the corner of the Place de la Comedie, and ideal for tram lines B and C. That's the good news. Our room was extremely small (we measured it, and the total area including bathroom and entrance passage was less than 12 square metres) and with...

Tried this two star hotel because of location - right in Opera Square, Bordeaux - but expecting little else. Wonderful surprise. Clean comfortable rooms, very small but you only have to sleep there. Reception is in another hotel around the corner. Very adequate breakfast downstairs in small functional part time coffee ship. Very close to Tram A&B and of course...

Rooms are definitely "no frills" but are clean and comfortable. Mine was on the 5th floor (there is a lift) and to the back so no view and a bit on the dark side but it was very quiet. Everything you need is there with the exception of coffee making facilities. Optional breakfast is in a cafeteria on the ground...

The hotel room is just fine. It's basic but that's what you pay for. Location is great a the lady at the desk was very friendly. But notice: they are renovating the place around this time and at 8.45 am we woke up by insane drilling and hammering. Really bad. So make sure to ask for a quit level or...

Having picked up the keys from the hotel round the corner and worked out how the entry code worked we found one of the typically small French hotel lifts to take us to the fourth floor. The room was merely functional - quite small but with just about all you need. Breakfast takes place at ground level. If the room...

Was slightly surprised on arriving to find a sign telling visitors to go to the hotel around the corner, but Hotel L'Opera and 4 Soeurs apparently interconnect, and are run as the same place. Good reception staff. Room basic, but spotlessly clean, if in need of updating. Bed on the firm side for my preference. One thing you will not...

The key to your hotel room has to be picked up from another hotel just around the corner. You get a code and key to enter the hotel de l'Opera. The rooms are very basic but clean. Since it's in a very central location, there is some noise from outside. For a quiet night, close the windows! We had a...

This 'hotel' if you can call it that is an annexe of a hotel round the corner. Room 501 which we were allocated was not fit for purpose unless you have been convicted of a heinous crime. Barely larger than a prison cell and extremely claustrophobic, dirty with threadbare carpet and the electric socket hanging off the wall. I complained...

There's nothing flash about this hotel (I suppose that's what comes with cheap rates) but the location is superb. No need to use public transport as the hotel is located in the city centre within walking distance of all main attractions. Hotel staff were super friendly but beware check in is at a different location, just around the corner so...

Great location just in front to the opera. The room is Basic and clean room equipped with a tv. I found it a bit expensive for what you get. I would not stay here for more than 2 nights. There is no reception in the building so you should go to the reception of another hotel just around the corner.
