We had a perfect time! We really enjoyed the family-like athmosphere, breakfast, the restaurant & sightseeing advices, the beatiful old house and the beautiful garden & pool. Everyone was very kind! Thank you!
This B&B guest house is rustic but very charming and comfortable with beautiful garden and nice heated outdoor pool. Christoph and his mother are very kind and friendly, very knowledgable about the town, region, restaurants and give lots of good advice. Breakfast is continental with good coffee, OJ, chease, ham, cake, joghurt etc and a lovely bakery basket (the Bretagne is known for great bread, croissants, tarts, cake and fantastic salted butter). Though no air conditioning in the rooms, there was a nice cool sea wind which cooled things down at night, we slept very well. The bathrooms are quite modern and have good showers. The guest house backs onto Chateau Keriolet which is open to the public and is like Harry Potters French Castle, a must to visit and just 2 minutes walk away! Its easy to get to Concarneau, 3 mins by car and we ate at three different excellent restaurants, ...fish and mussels to die for! However, a big advantage of staying at this very affordable guest house, is you can get a baguette, wine, cheese, pate etc from the nearby LeClerc supermarket and have a great lunch or dinner in the lovely, well kept garden. A fridge is available to guests along with cutlery, plates, glasses and all you need. We enjoyed this very much...it made us feel closer to France. In any case, we had a great stay for the week here. 🙂…
Lovely room with a nice view of the garden and pool. On the whole the room, bedding and towels were very clean but felt the room hadn't received a good clean between guests - furniture dusty and shower cubicle and waste needed a good clean as quite an un-fresh smell each morning when you opened the door. We used the cups in the room to make a cup of tea and the dirty cups were still there a few days later. We didn't bother using them again as there was nowhere to store milk. We did not enjoy sitting on a large table with other guests for breakfast - the photos online indicate separate tables. Being able to speak a good standard of French would make your stay more enjoyable. Breakfast was good but not home baked pastries and pancakes as suggested by another reviewer. Both restaurants and bar in the village are well and truly closed and it is 1.7 miles in to Concarneau town - walkable but an uphill walk back! What would be helpful if drinks could be available when you arrive or to sit and enjoy the garden, or alternatively having a mini fridge in the room to store drinks and milk for tea. A nice welcome book in the room giving local information and amenities etc in different languages would be helpful. We felt this was a lovely place to stay for a couple of nights but not for a week.…
Charming B&B on the outskirts of Concarneau. Welcoming family, generous breakfast served on large table in salon with other guests, lovely way to start the day chatting about local visits, notwithstanding our fellow European guests being curious and somewhat incredulous about the UK decision to leave the EU. The hosts were warm hearted and did everything possible to make our stay comfortable. Our weather was not great but I am confident in sunshine the pool and peaceful garden would be a bonus.
A very comfortable stay in this quiet retreat on the periphery of Concarneau. Quirkily decorated with a mix of antique and modern furniture and all spotlessly clean. Extremely helpful hostess recommending restaurants, walks and paces to visit.
