We arrived on what had to be the hottest day of the year, looked at the stairs we had to climb and our hearts sank. All was saved however, as we had help with our luggage and our room was luxurious and air-conditioned! Unfortunately, we didn't manage to use the pool as storms were forecast that night and the pool...

My husband and I visited Amboise for two days in July 2006 and we stayed at the Manoir Saint Thomas. It is a beautiful refurbished manoir. The rooms are warm, roomy and quaint. The bathroom is absolutely gorgeous with a Roman tub and separate shower and the room is very clean. The grounds are gorgeous and inviting for a walk....

We came across this calm and serene hotel by chance. It is situated in the centre of Amboise, but its high walls provides a calm and serene atmosphere. 2 minutes walk to the chateau and the central pedestrian street. A lovely garden with an excellent swimming pool (great during the canicule this year!). It has beautiful rooms with plenty of...

We stumbled across this property while researching lodging on the internet and contacted the hotel by email. I was thrilled that they still had rooms available on fairly short notice. The staff was very helpful and the property was beautifully refurbished with well decorated rooms and lovely large bathrooms (and air conditioning!). Although it was centrally located in the village...

Previous reviews are spot on! Booked this hotel for two nights for our 10-day tour of Northern France. My wife, adult daughter and I stayed in a suite opening up to the rear of the building; very quiet! No surprises with this beautifully restored historic building. In the Parlor, they keep a photo album of the restoration of the hotel...

Very helpful owners & staff. Rooms very large & recently refurbished very nicely. Great location in center of Amboise. The only caveat is that it can be tricky to find the first time. You have to make a right hand turn onto a street that goes right next to the Castle and it almost looks like a "pedestrian only" walkway...

We decided to search for somewhere to stay in Amboise and spotted the hotel sign as we were driving through. We pulled onto the gravel drive to find a secluded country house hotel. The owner welcomed us into the reception area and was most helpful in explaining the hotel's availability and also showed us both of the available rooms. We...

We have just returned from a two week vacation in France. While there we stayed at many hotels/chateau in Paris, Normandy, Dordogne, Provence, etc. and the one which stands out the most is Le Manoir Saint Thomas at Amboise. Our room at the Manior was beautiful, spacious, modern and cosy at the same time.... the most inviting by far. The...

I just pulled this town of Amboise and this hotel out of a hat. What great luck for my wife and I. Le Manoir Saint Thomas was great. The staff was fantastic, and we had a great room for a great price. I would go back to France just to stay in this area and in this hotel again. Bill...

My husband and I stayed at Manoir St. Thomas for three nights and couldn't have been happier. The building itself has been meticulously restored, and our room had an opulent bathroom (complete with roomy tub) larger than most European hotel rooms. Our hosts were friendly, helpful, and filled with useful suggestions (particularly regarding restaurants) that made our trip extra special....
