Located right next to the Chateau. However, despite booking in advance we were told on arrival that we could not check in for another 2.5 hours. Waiter was pretty rude too. Room was adequate, but not up to the standard that you can find elsewhere in the Loire. Wifi connection is not available on all rooms. Disappointing.

Its first attraction is its proximity to the chateau and gardens. That is why we booked it. What we found was a revelation: a very comfortable hotel with a great restaurant and staff who exuded care for their clients: would you like to eat inside or out? it may rain but are you content stay out here? would you like...

This hotel was RIGHT next door to Villandry Chateau. We went to the chateau during the day and then back at night for the fireworks so we wanted to stay within walking distance. It was a pleasant change from some of the big cities. The only drawback was that the 2 rooms that we had were not right next to...

This hotel is ideally situated to explore the Loire Valley and it's magnificent sights. Starting with the Villandry Chateau and Gardens which has its front gate less than 100 metres from the door of the Hotel. Staff at the hotel are very accommodating and the language barrier was not too great. The restaurant serves fabulous meals and the variety of...

Le Cheval Rouge is a good hotel, and for the price range it is a very good hotel indeed. Externally attractive, it is right next door to Villandry Chateau and Park which is one of the must visit sights for a trip to the Loire. There is a small car park across the road which tends to fill up by...

Villandry le Cheval Rouge is right up against the Chateau Villandry and within a 1/4 mile of the autobahn. Rooms are large and breakfast great. Lots of parking. On july 3rd Chateau Villandry had a large fireworks show.

We stayed 2 nights while visiting the area. We enjoyed our stay. Nice breakfast and dinner. Car parking across the street as well as some walking/biking trails and the office of tourism. So it was a nice place to stay to explore the area. The room was clean. Villandry castle next door to visit.

Having read the Tripadvisor reviews I was expecting more. The hotel does have a private car park, but it is small, we arrived at 17:00 hrs and it was already full and had to use a public car park. Check in was friendly and efficient. The public rooms are definitely in need of some updating. The room was clean but...

Nice clean hotel, simple but adequate bedroom. Free private closed parking (I liked that) and the restaurant very pleasant. Run by a nice friendly lady. I hate buffet breakfasts and I have to say the coffee was second rate. However, we'd definitely stay here again. The gardens at the chateau (5 minutes walk away) are nothing short of breathtaking.

This was the perfect spot for us to base several days in the Loire. Parking is easy, no traffic to contend with, service was excellent. The restaurant was very good for dinner, and the breakfast was typical french hotel. We were first led to two third floor garrett rooms which were so small that an adult could not stand to...
