Lovely hotel with more spacious rooms than one expects in this part of Paris. The staff were great and incredibly obliging. I was in Room 40 and it was huge, by Paris standards. Bathroom was good (although hairdryer was one of those attached to the wall things I hate). Toilet a bit funny as in the entry to the room...

My husband and I adore staying at the Hotel d’Angleterre. We first visited for four nights in 2014, when we could not book the apartment we’d rented for the entire two weeks of our stay. The landlord suggested this hotel, and she may regret doing so, because we now prefer the hotel over the apartment. The thing is, you actually...

The location of Hotel d'Angleterre can't be beat, on a quiet street in Saint Germain des Pres and close to scads of restaurants, the Musee D'Orsay, shopping, the Vedettes du Pont Neuf, Notre Dame. A half-hour walk gets you to the Eiffel Tower. The staff was welcoming and friendly; breakfast was plentiful, an expanded continental with boiled eggs, cold meat,...

This was our first trip to Paris and we booked this hotel primarily due to hearing fantastic things from friends about Saint Germain. We couldn't have been more pleased with the neighborhood, which boasts an optimal mix of Parisian cafes, nearby museums, and upscale dining. This was easily our favorite neighborhood in Paris. As far as the hotel, what a...

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel numerous times. Each stay has been a delight. The desk staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast served is a great way to start your day. Each room has its own personality and they are quiet so you can get a restful sleep. You will not be disappointed.

On a narrow street in the 6th, around the corner from Deux Magots and the church in St Germain, Rue Jacob lies, on that rue appears a hotel D'Angleterre. Small but not a midget building, a central garden which affords daylight/moonlight to the lobby, charming personnel at the desk, a comfortable room ( I have now stayed in three different...

The d'Angleterre is tucked away in the superchic Left Bank part of the French capital in St Germain de Pres. Its history is classic having been in a former life The British Embassy, a base for Benjamin Franklin and a haunt of Ernest Hemingway. Following in the American writer's footsteps I wanted to retrace the Paris of bygone years. It's...

This used to be the perfect place to stay in the 6th; unfortunately no one is keeping the rooms up to snuff and many are rife with plumbing issues. When I asked for a new shower curtain in the small room I'd taken because the curtain had black mold on the bottom, the desk offered to upgrade me to a...

The hotel, which is fairly small, has a very nice ambiance and most of the rooms are large by Paris standards. You cannot reserve in person, even if you are standing at the front desk with your credit card in hand. I tried it, but 2 desk clerks were rather abrupt with me saying I had to reserve by email...

Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend.
